Welcome to “AROUND THE WORLD”, an e-magazine brought to you by Strategic Marketing
Division.
Issue 3 will take you through five interesting development designs and concepts around the
world that are hoped to continuously inspire us all. Projects featured for this issue are:

The Bergoase Wellness Centre is located at Tschuggen
Grand Hotel, an exclusive luxury hotel vacation resort
surrounded by mountainous landscape of
Graubünden. It is approximately 120 minutes of driving
distance from the Zurich International Airport.
The Bergoase Wellness Centre spreads over four floors,
featuring an impressive water world, an array of saunas
and steam baths, a lounge and fire place, as well as a
fitness area and medical wellness.
• The ground floor of wellness centre contains a
fitness area and changing rooms for public visitors;
• The first floor contains cabins for treatments, a
solarium, a hairdresser and a shop;
• The second floor, connects the reception and
saunas with the main body of the hotel via a glass
skybridge
• The third floor houses the main swimming pool and
relaxation areas
Besides the signature programme focusing on
massage treatments, the wellness centre also offers
special therapies such as Ayurveda, Hawaiian’s Lomi
Lomi Nui, Japanese Reiki, Stone Therapy etc as well as
anti-ageing, detoxification and weight loss
programme.

landmark TIGER AND TURTLE – MAGIC MOUNTAIN| Duisburg, Germany

The walkable, large outdoor sculpture - “Tiger and Turtle - Magic Mountain” is a looping rollercoaster-
stairway with LED lights. This 20-metre landmark is located at the highest peak of the Heinrich Hildebrand
Höhe, South of Duisberg which stands 85 metres above sea level.
Built on top of a mining waste tip which opened in 2008, the “Tiger and Turtle - Magic Mountain” was
designed by Heike Mutter and Ulrich Genth to be a landmark for the Ruhr region.
On a construction side, about 120 tons of galvanised steel out of zinc and steel left over from local mining
operations were used and supported by 17 columns to make the 220-metre long of walkway with 249
steps in total.
With 2 million Euro of construction cost, it takes about a year to complete.
Recently , the “Tiger and Turtle - Magic Mountain” was awarded the Certificate of Excellence 2014 by
Tripadvisor under the category of monuments/ statues and it is currently ranked 4th out of 20 place of
attractions in Duisberg.

The concept promotes a better human interaction via its open workspace, chill & meet zone, meeting
pods, shared kitchen, rooftop garden and child care centre. Beside that, natural finishes*, carpets and
paints used contains low volatile organic compound (VOC) are able to enhance healthier workspace
environment

The Bond was the first building in Australia to
achieve five stars rating by Australian Green
Building Council, built over the old
contaminated gasworks site.
With AUD112 million of construction cost, The
Bond was completed in 2007. Its offers a
contemporary office design that promotes
green features.
The office spaces occupied by Lend Lease and
The Bond also has child care centre, chill & meet
zone, meeting pods, shared kitchen, rooftop
garden etc
The Bond’s natural ventilation, passive chilled
beam cooling and fully operable shading on the
facades have capability to reduce 20% lower
CO² emissions than a typical office building .
Hence, it’s become a leading example of social
and environmental sustainability within
commercial objectives.

The Swedish Sienapriset 2012 award-winner’s Hornsbergs
Strandpark is over 700 meters long and consists of long
floating piers, exotic plants (without being gardened and
maintained) and an open-air central plaza.
Located in the Kungsholmen borough, an island in Lake
Mälaren, part of Stockholm City, the park facing the Pampas
Marina emphasises on “where water and land meet in a
curvy shoreline” concept and contemporary design.
Hornsbergs Strandpark is also a local favorite “hang-out”
place and the best night swimming spot in Stockholm
especially during summer.
Completed in 2012 with almost USD20 million of construction
cost, the key attraction of the park is the long floating
wooden piers that give visitors a feeling of floating on water.
Other facilities surrounding the park includes informal seating
areas and a sun-heated shower that can be used by joggers.
De Kameleon is a supersized housing block, sited
on 2.29 ac of land in Bijlmermee.
With total GFA of 55,500m², the construction cost
is valued at USD66 million.
Built to cater for middle income group, De
Kameleon consists a combination of 168 units of
low-rise apartment, 58 units of high-rise
apartment, communal spaces and elevated
parking.
The project also has a shopping centre on the
ground floor with all shops accessible directly
from public space and parking bays.
The low-rise apartment was built underneath the
10-storey high-rise apartment features “AnoMax”
pre-coated metal-cladding façade, outdoor
winding stairs and signature garden.
