Our Lady of Fatima Pope Francis has granted a plenary indulgence oppor-tunity for the 100th Anniversary of the Fatima appari-tions. At St. John Bosco we will be offering the faith-ful an opportunity to gain this indulgence on the 13th

of each month from May- October 2017.

The requirements for this indulgence are to pray be-fore a statue of Our Lady of Fatima

solemnly exposed for public veneration on the 13th of each month from May to October 2017 and devoutly participate in a celebration of prayer in honor of the

Virgin Mary. This must include the Our Father, the Creed and invoking Our

Lady of Fatima.

To obtain any indulgence, the faithful must also fulfill the ordinary conditions: go to Confession and

Communion within a week, be interiorly detached from sin, and pray for the intentions of the

Holy Father.

You may join us at the formal prayer opportunities or use the booklets to pray on your own and venerate the statue on the 13th of the month May—October 2017.

SAVE THE DATE in 2018. The Cross and the Light is coming to St. John Bosco. Thurs., 3/8:10 AM and 7PM, Fri., 3/9:10 AM & 7 PM, and Sat., 3/10: 1 PM and 7PM! It’s not just a show;

It is an intentional encounter event. Religious inspiration comes in many forms. Kelly Garver Nieto’s hit her like a ton of Babylon bricks while she was attending her first-ever Good Friday service in 2000. It was while praying the Stations of the Cross, which uses 14 sequential images to depict the crucifixion of Jesus, that the former nonbeliever

experienced what she calls a “life-changing vision.” “I looked at the altar and saw all the details of this grand theatrical production,” the entertainer and former Miss Michigan remembers. “And I heard God say, ‘This is why you are here.’ I knew in my soul that this would

become my life’s mission.” Please like The Cross and the Light on Facebook!

We are going to celebrate the birthday of Mary, the Blessed Mother.

SJB Parishioners & Friends are invited to come together for a joyous birthday party for Mary, the Mother of God, on Fri., 9/8

after morning Mass. Birthday cupcakes will be served! We don't know much about the

Blessed Mother's birth. We don't find anything about her young life or her parents in Scripture - but we do know

that it was miraculous, because she was conceived without sin. She had to be, because she was going to be the Mother of God! What would you give the Blessed Mother on her birthday? How would you wrap it? Can you see her expression when she opens it? Do you hear

her graciously thanking you, see her face lighting up when she sees it? And how about that hug she gives you, whispering "I love you!" in your ear? How can you honor your Heavenly Mother on her birthday? Have you spent

some time with Mary lately?

For information, please contact the SJB TCTL Hotline 267-803-9930 or go to

Here is your chance to let America's military community know how much you appreciate all that they

have sacrificed in order to keep our country safe. We will have a table set up in the cafeteria during the

Festival week with Christmas Cards. Please stop by & sign a card. Show your appreciation to our U.S.

Military Men & Women for their sacrifices, dedication & service to our country! Cards are only $1.00. We will take care of mailing them before the holidays. It will

bring joy to our troops that will last a lifetime.
