There were two instances between the night of July 2 and the morning of July 3 on the 300 block of East Lincoln Avenue and the 10 Block of West Colfax Avenue. Another Hag was burned on July 11 between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on the 300 block of Chestnut Street. Rahway At 11 p.m. on July 5, a theft was reported on Route 1. At 5 p.m. on July 6, a theft on Woodbridgo Road was reported. In the early hours of July 7, a theft was reported on Route 1. The suspect is described as being a black male about six feet tall. 50 years old andwearing all black. In the early morning of July 9, a theft was reported on West Main Street. At 9:50 p.m. on July 9, a rob- bery was reported on Central Avenue. Roselle Ira Armour of Roselle, 55, was arrested at S: 15 p.m. on July 6 for possession of stolen property fol- lowing a two-week investigation for a robbery on Centennial Avenue in Cranford. Cranford police arrest- ed Armour outside his Roselle resi- dence. He was charged with receiv- ing stolen property for holding and selling products of the burglary and is being held at Union County Jail in lieu of bail. Armour was also detained on outstanding warrants from lrvington, Hillside, Wood- bridge andSouth Orange. • Police arrested Bekim Berisha, 27, of Linden during a stop for ,•••••, - • POLICE BLOTTER motor vehicle violations on the night of July 7 for contempt of court after he was found to have an outstanding traffic warrant from Tinton Falls. He was processed and released after posting SI 14 bail. Evoke Ogbevire, 33, of Roselle was arrested on July 8 for outstanding traffic warrants from Roselle and Union when he pre- sented himself for transport to Union County Jail on an unrelated matter. • On the early morning of July 9. police pulled over a 1999 BMW on Walnut Avenue containing Kevin Marques, IK, Jeremy Pereira, 20, and a juvenile male, 15. all from Newark, for not having a rear license plate. Following an investi- gation on the scene, the officer on the scene found two sandwich I of alleged marijuana, police said, All three were arrested, with Mar- ques all 0 being charged with improper display of license plate. Clark At 10:25 a.m. on June 22. police arrested Larry Faroul Jr., 24. of Carteret on an outstanding war- rant for contempt of court, lie was subsequently transported to Union County Jail. At 4 p.m. on June 23, police arrested Ramell Green, 20, of Queens, NY for credit card fraud. He was released on his own recog- nizance pending a court date. • On Raritan Road after midnight on June 25, police arrested Daniel Lammie, 21, of Edison for posses- sion of CDS, hypodermic needles and narcotics paraphernalia, accord- ing to police officials. Also arrested were Robert Kraynak, 18, and David Sung, 19, both of Edison, for possession of a hypodermic needle. • Near the Garden State Park- wax on the night of June 26, police arrested Gabriella Reyna-Romero, 20, of" Rahway for possession of CDS and underage drinking. Summit • Police arrested Laycee E. Will- hide, 23, of Summit on June 30, at his residence for contempt of court. • David Daries, 48, of Summit was arrested on June 30 at his resi- dence for two counts of 2nd degree theft of payment. At 4:0S p.m.on July 1. police arrested Michael A. Sullivan of Chatham for possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana. • Peter T. Halasz Jr.. 24, of Sum- mit was arrested on Morris Avenue on July 1, for possession of hypo- dermic needle or syringe with intent to use or sell, furnish or give to an> person. On the morning of July 2, police received a report of a theft from vehicle while it was parked on a Canoe Brook Farkwa> residence. A Garmin GPS valued at S400 was reported missing. • Police arrested Kelsey Q. Sanezyk, 18, of New Providence at Park Avenue in the early morning of July 3 for driving while intoxi- cated, having an open container of alcoholic beverage in motor vehicle and careless driving. At 7 p.m. on July 4, police received a report of theft from vehi- cle while it was parked at an Edgar Street residence on July 1. Report- ed missing is a Garmin GPS valued at S300. "The robbery happened when a Pennsylvania woman in her 60s was visiting a gravesite at a local cemetery and was approached from behind by an unknown male." said Grady. "As she had her back to the subject, he shoved her and began to grab her purse and then he struck her in the back of the head with an unknown object, knocking her to the ground and taking thepurse away. "The suspect fled on foot to a nearby vehicle and proceeded to flee the cemetery," he continued. "During the flight of the vehicle, it was damaged by striking a concrete wall and began to leak fluids, which were trailed to the Parkway north entrance." Proceeds from the theft were an undetermined amount of cash, credit cards, and personal belongings. The woman then called 9-1-1 to report the crime, according to police officials, in which Kenilworth patrol officers responded. The woman was slightly injured and officers administered first aid. She then denied, any further medical attention. She was taken to Kenil- worth Police Headquarters for further investigation by detectives. The male was described as being a tall, thinly built, with close cropped, dark hair, in his 20s to 30s, and of African-American descent. He lied in a dark-colored small sedan vehicle. "It is unfortunate and appalling that this would happen to anyone, never mind at a place where this woman was paying respects, Grady said. "You need to be aware of your surroundings at all times." Detectives are in\estimating several leads and are interviewing witnesses. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed any similar vehicles on the Garden State Parkway northbound during this time frame that may have been experiencing mechanical problems or being operated reeklessly are urged to contact the Kenihvorth Police Detective Bureau at 908-276-1700. Kenilworth Police Chief Kenneth Grady announced that Kenil-worth detectives are investigating a robber}' that occurred on July 10at about 7 p.m. at a cemetery located near the Garden State Parkwayin Kenihvorth.
