A note about the ArtistMy name is Stephen Fenech, a local artist, working mainly on local themes. The main focus of my paintings, is The local Wildlife and countryside. As a former architectural Draugthsperson I also try to capture rural architecture or other architectural objects which are scattered all over our country, varying from niches, old farmhouses and coats of arms.

I try to capture my subjects as realistically as can be and use all kind of me-diums, varying from Oils, Acrylics and Watercolours.

I can be classified as a self taught artist, learning art along the way with help of other established artists. With full support given from early stages from My father, mother and later my wife. Without this support for sure, I couldn’t reach my milestones.

After my first successful exhibition last year held at Le Meridien, I have started working on new projects.

Altough occassionally I accept commis-sions, related to my themes, I prefer to work on my own inspirations, that comes along the way. Whether a nice landscape, flora and fauna or superb sunset or sun-rise, I put my heart my hands and full spirit in the painting in progress.Hope you enjoy viewing my current art-work available, and in the same time, thanks for your appreciation. L-Ghorfa

After long inpired to paint an old typical farmhouse, a fellow friend informed me of an old farmhouse, hidden in the countryside, away from all urban mayhem. Fortunatley, the passagway is not available for vehicles, assuring that this place will be left in peace. After some on site sketches, I finished the painting in my studio. Satisfied with the result and with the evening light setting upon this unique Architecture.

Taht Il-Harsa Divina

Driving along Marsaxlokk Bay one April morning, was like a trip to another land. The scene was much more like a pictouresque postcard. The morning fog was so thick that, visibility was only available in a 20 metres radius, after walking to the bay’s special points, I figured out, that our saviour was the main focal point in this area, also looking as if guarding the fishermans, boats.
