established and young galleries from Asia and the West. The fair aims to promote

dialogue not only between Asia and the West but also amongst the countries of the

Asian region as well.

N a t e e U t a r i t (b. 1970, Bangkok, Thailand) studied at the College of Fine Art in 1987 and graduated in Graphic Arts at the Painting and Sculpture Faculty at Silpakorn University, both in Bangkok, Thailand in 1991. Initially influenced by German Expressionism and abstract art in his early body of work, Utarit has undergone an exploration on the medium of painting connecting it with photography and classical Western art. Light and perspective are some of the elements the artist chose to work with, focusing on painting as a means to explore image making. He lives and works in Bangkok, Thailand. N a d i a h B a m a d h a j (b. 1968, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia) was initially trained as a sculptor at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand but now produces drawings, sculptures, installations and digital images. In 2000, she began her full-time art- practice and was awarded the Nippon Foundation’s Asian Public Intellectual Fellowship in 2002, electing to spend her fellowship period in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, where she currently lives with her husband and son. Her artwork continues to focus on the social intricacies of Yogyakarta’s society, using myth, architecture, and dwelling to articulate her observations.

C h a n g Y o o n g C h i a (b. 1975, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) is an artist working in a variety of media and approaches. He graduated from the Malaysian Institute of Art in 1996 with a Diploma of Fine Art in painting. Since then, he has participated in numerous exhibitions in Malaysia and abroad. Chia was also a founding member of the artist collective, Spacekraft. Chia’s works, ranging from Surrealist inspired paintings, laboriously crafted collages, paper sculptures to painted shells explore a wide-ranging topics such as politics, religion and culture. The repeated gestures and complex methods reflect a commitment with craft in which the labor adds another layer of meaning to the work. W o n g P e r n g F e y (b. 1974, Kuala Lumpur) is an artist that has built his reputation as an experimental and versatile painter since his graduation from the Malaysian Institute of Art under the school’s scholarship in 1998. He was awarded the Artist Residency in Rimbun Dahan, Kuang in 2002. His works are in many prominent Malaysian public collections such as the National Visual Arts Gallery, Kuala Lumpur; Bank Negara Malaysia Museum Art Gallery, Kuala Lumpur and Galeri Petronas, Kuala Lumpur. He lives and works in Beijing.

K e d s u d a L o o g t h o n g (b. 1983, Songkhla, Thailand) graduated from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Bangkok University, Thailand in 2006. Loogthong’s early works examine the urbanization of her rural landscape and society and how consumerism has affected the lives of simple country folks. Her recent works explores the materiality and symbolism of books both as an icon and a nostalgic object of reverence. Kedsuda has participated in many group exhibitions in Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea and Finland. Her works are collected by Singapore Art Museum, Singapore.

Y e o h C h o o K u a n (b. 1988, Malaysia) is a young artist working in the veins of Abstract Expressionism though he installs narratives and hints of figuration to the formal language of his

paintings. He graduated from Dasein Academy of Art, Kuala Lumpur with a Diploma in Fine Arts in 2010. He produces paintings and painted sculptures, in which he treats the canvas and readymade objects as though they are living bodies. Influenced by the aesthetic of the human body and driven by a deeply personal narrative, his visually seductive works display a powerful emotional intensity. He lives and works in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

H a f f e n d i A n u a r (b. 1985, Malaysia) is a sculptor working in a variety of media. He studied at Rhode Island School of Design, USA and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, UK. He has exhibited in Malaysia, the USA, Korea and the UK. He was selected as one of the winners of Xhibit 2013 in London, UK. Influenced by the language of product design and marketing and the gesture of the ‘readymade’, his working process applies a variety of form‐making methods, ranging from traditional reductive carving to industrial vacuum forming, to create forms that either appear naturally formed or artificially constructed. He lives and works in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A t t a s i t A n i w a t c h o n (b. 1968, Thailand) is a painter based in Bangkok Thailand. He graduated with a BFA and an MFA in Graphic Arts from Silpakorn University, Bangkok. He has exhibited internationally and within Thailand. His photorealistic and kitschy paintings examines how moments in a person’s life are captured in a photograph and framed as a gesture of adding values to that moment.

M e l i s s a T a n (b. 1989, Singapore) graduated from Lasalle College of The Arts, Singapore, with a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts. She is interested in themes of transience and beauty of the ephemeral. Her current project revolves around Landscapes and the process of formation. She has since participated in group exhibitions at Richard Koh Fine Art and The Singapore Show: Future Proof, Singapore Art Museum at 8Q and exhibited in group shows in France and London. Recently she had taken part in the Dena Foundation Artist Residency Program in Paris. She lives and works in Singapore.

M a i t r e e S i r i b o o n (b. 1983, Thailand) is a mixed media artist. He graduated with a Bachelor degree in Fine Art from Silpakorn University. Maitree works in photography, sculpture, mosaic collages, installations and performances. The artist often combines his childhood dreams with his current musings into mosaic works similarly found on the outdoors surfaces of Thai temples.

R i c h a r d K o h F i n e A r t has been in operation since 2005 and is regarded as a pioneer for introducing Southeast Asian contemporary art to Malaysia and the region. Promoting an adventurous roster of emerging and established Southeast Asian artists, the gallery regularly mounts exhibitions locally and abroad with a commitment to emerging practices and challenging media.
