Welcome to the 2016 3rd Annual Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest Artisan ciders are the main attraction at this event, serving up 22 Northwest Cideries with an array of 44 ciders. Fun for the whole family, the Hard-Pressed Cider Fest also offers a full line up of local live music, great local food, arts, and craft vendors, and kid’s activities.

Atlas Hard Cider Bend, OR - atlascider.comApricot Cider Pressed golden orange apricots dominate this uniquely tart cider. The Apricots add a subtle flavor that is like combining a peach and a plum but not quite as sweet. The Romans and Greeks had it right when they used apricots as a main ingredient of their drink known as the “Nectar of the Gods”. The driest of our ciders leaves a lasting round finish that calls for more. May the Gods be appeased. 6.2% ABV Gluten Free

Blackberry Cider Oregon has a state flag, song, flower, and this my friends is our nomination for a state cider. A deep hue of purple fills the glass as we took zero short-cuts with this fine blend of blackberries and elderberries. The tartness of the blackberries is rounded out by the complex characteristics of the elderberries. Filled with tannins the cider leaves a delightful dry and rich finish. Cheers to NW berries. 6.2% ABV Gluten Free

Sorta Sweet If we had to describe this cider in a word it would be YUM! Blended with similar varieties

of apples as our Kinda Dry, Sorta Sweet will hit you with apple flavor right from the start. Balancing

the higher levels of residual sugars with just the right amount of tartness gives Sorta Sweet a fresh

flavor that tastes like biting into your favorite apple. A nice long finish follows that makes sipping a pint

something not to be rushed. We ferment it with the same care and give it the same attention to detail

as our other ciders. Also lightly carbonated, pair a glass of Sorta Sweet with your favorite curry or any

spicy dish and you cannot go wrong. 4.5% ABV

Kinda Dry Traditional English cider is dry, lightly carbonated, has very subtle apple flavors, and a

lingering fresh finish. It is in the spirit of this traditional cider that we blend our Kinda Dry. We use fresh

pressed juice from a blend of NW grown culinary apples such as Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Jonagold,

Gala, Golden and Red Delicious, carefully ferment them with a yeast that preserves their subtle

characteristics, give the cider time to develop to its full potential, then bottle or keg at just the right

time. Just off dry, light, clean, refreshing, with a pleasant finish, Kinda Dry is the cider to always have on

hand. 6.8% ABV

2014 Etienne Étienne is the result of our first fermentation in the 50hL French oak foudre we

acquired from Bordeaux. This single-varietal cider was fermented and aged 14 months in the foudre

(affectionately known as “Steve” or “Étienne” en francais) giving it structured oak tannins, solid fruit

character and a crisp, clean finish. 6.9% ABV

2015 Vintage PommePomme Farmhouse Cider Our first Spring release of the 2015 vintage,

this off-dry cider is refreshingly fruit-forward with well-balanced acidity. We use technique and timing

(not backsweetening) to maintain residual sugar and then allow it to keg condition, giving it a subtle,

natural effervescence. 6.5% ABV

While not being difficult to make it’s difficult to make the right way. After months of blending and implementing a rarely used French winemaking technique, Pear Bear was born. Using a unique blend of Bosc, Anjou and Bartlett pears, Pear Bear has a strong Pyrus profile, while being backed up with notes of honey, vanilla and wildflower. 5.8% ABV

Chops Having unlimited access to dozens of cider varieties can produce endless combinations. We mixed our Sour Cherry cider with our 425 Dry-Hop cider and found a blend we wanted to keep. Nicknamed “CHOPS!”, this cult classic was only brought out for special events, but eventually became a standard favorite. With a subtle balance of the sour Montmorency cherry, blended with the floral Santiam hop, this is a popular favorite that is always asked about. 6.5% ABV

Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider Portland, OR - reverendnatshardcider.comRevival Hard Apple This cider is made with a blend of apples to which is added piloncillo, and is then fermented to total dryness using two exotic yeast strains. It is brilliantly golden in color and deeply complex while remaining subtly familiar, with just the right amount of sweetness and acidity to be an everyday beverage. 6.0% ABV

New Moon Mandarin New Moon Mandarin starts with a blend of Newtown Pippin and Granny Smith apples. Fresh squeezed mandarin juice and zest are added and the cider is finished with tangerine juice and chamomile flower. 7.2% ABV

It’s packed with cherries and plums grown on Rogue’s own farm in Tygh Valley, Oregon, in additon to apples, pears, marionberries, peaches and apricots grown on rich Oregon soil. Fruit Salad Cider is a true taste of the terroir of Oregon. 6.4% ABV

Pink Gin Cider 100% dry apple cider aged inside Rogue Spirits Spruce Gin barrels. This unique cider picks up herbal notes from the eleven botanicals used to make our spruce gin. 7.3% ABV

The Ascender captures the heart of every adrenaline seeking adventurer. Never afraid to climb too high or go too fast, the Ascender starts with a vigorous ginger bite and rewards your pallet with a smooth finish. 6.5% ABV

Lumberjack Rhubarb This axe-swinging Lumberjack will make you want to get lost in the woods! He’s earthy, rugged, and just the right amount of dry. But, underneath all of that rough and tough, he’s as sweet as an early autumn pear. 5% ABV

Slopeswell Cider Co. Hood River, OR - slopeswell.comEmperium Infused with hops to bring a balance to its fruity sweetness, this saison-style cider has notes of citrus and apricot and pleases both beer and cider lovers alike. 6.7% ABV

Southtown Scrumpy An old-world, champagne-style cider in the farmhouse tradition. A bit of sweet, a bit of sour. Named after a region of Western New York where our cidermaster first discovered naturally fermented, old-world ciders. 6.7% ABV

Pouring a crystal clear magenta, this cider features Oregon’s tart, lip-smacking marionberry with a subtle fruit aroma, deep berry flavor and dry finish. 6.8% ABV

Dank Hop We added organic pineapples and a blend of Columbus, Centennial and Chinook hops to a base of dry apple cider. The melding of tropical pineapple and sticky, piney, super dank hops makes for a heady experience. 6.8 % ABV

Pear A light, smooth, and delicate cider made with 100% Bartlett pears. 6.7% ABV

Wandering Aengus Ciderworks Salem, OR - wanderingaengus.com Anthem Pear Bosc and Anjou pears smooth Anthem Cider’s acidity with a soft mouth feel and the earthy roundness only a real ripe pear provides. Semi-Dry. Mild Tart. 5.0% to 6.5% ABV. Gluten Free.
