Activity:

Grade 7: One of the main purposes of learning Philippine indigenous music is awareness and appreciation of it. The students will showcase all the principles and concepts they learned and perform some of their original compositions. This also means that the grade 7 students are taking a big role in preserving the culture and heritage of our ancestors.

Grade 8: The students will present a shadow play. The design of the puppets is influenced by the Indonesian art. The story that they are going to present is about a son leaving his mother based on the Indonesian songs given to them in music class. The purpose of the show is to let the audience appreciate more on shadow art.

Grade 9:

Year II:

Year III: The students will present a mini variety show that will showcase all the principles, elements and characteristics of Western Music through performance. The songs they selected are popular songs of the current era and arranged to suit the characteristics of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque.

Year IV:

Budget: No budget needed because all activities and performances were prepared during their music and art classes and the performance will serve as their culminating activity and/ or performance task.

Note: 1. We have not scheduled any activity for grades 7 to 9 and Year II to IV so as not to disrupt other activities such as Culminating activities of the P.E department and Shakesfest. 2. The Class advisers and other subject teachers are informed about the activities for supervision and processing.3. For the audience, Grades 1 6 are invited to have their lunch at the venue/s given of whatever activity they will be attending.

Thank you for a favorable response.
