INTRODUCTION

The Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Technical Education (APSCTE), anautonomous body under the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education,Government of Arunachal Pradesh will conduct the Arunachal Pradesh JointEntrance Examination (APJEE 2018) to select candidates for nomination in thevarious technical & professional courses against the seats made available to theState by the Govt. of India and also in the Polytechnics in the State.

ELIGIBILITY:

1. The children of Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST), children of Non-APST employees of the State Government, the Central Government & theCentral Public Sector Undertakings serving in Arunachal Pradesh and all theothers residing in Arunachal Pradesh for the last 3 years or more and who haveappeared/passed Class X from any of the schools within Arunachal Pradesh areeligible to appear the APJEE.

2. The minimum academic qualifications for appearing the APJEE in the variouscourses will be as follows:

i) FOR DIPLOMA COURSES:- Passed or Appeared Class X orequivalent from a Govt. recognized Board.

3. The age limit for appearing the APJEE in the various courses will be asfollows:

i) FOR DIPLOMA COURSES:- 15 to 18 years as on the date ofadmission in the particular institution to whichthe candidate may be nominated.

However the upper age limit of SC/ST candidates is relaxable by 3 (three)years. The age limits for examination and eligibility for admission will further begoverned by the norms the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).



CATEGORIES OF CANDIDATES:

On fulfilling the eligibility as mentioned above, the candidates shall be placed inthe following 2(Two) categories depending on the criteria as mentioned againsteach:

a) CATEGORY-I All the APST candidates which also includes children ofIAS/Central Govt./State Govt. employees belonging toAPST

b) CATEGORY-II

i. Children of Non-APST State Governmentemployees.

ii. Children of employees of All India Services/Central Government organizations & CentralPublic Sector Undertakings serving within theterritory of Arunachal Pradesh

iii. All others, not included in any of the abovecategories with the condition that the candidateshould have appeared/passed Class X orequivalent from any of the schools withinArunachal Pradesh and his/her parent(s) shouldhave been residing in Arunachal Pradesh for thelast 3(three) years of more. Both the criteriashould be fulfilled.

SYLLABUS FOR THE EXAMINATION:

The syllabus of the various courses will be as follows:-

Diploma : CBSE prescribed syllabus for Classes IX andX.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION:

The question papers of the APJEE will be in English only. All questionswill be of OBJECTIVE TYPE with multiple-choice answers. Each question willcarry 4(Four) marks for a correct response. For each incorrect answer to aquestion, 1(one) mark will be deducted. There shall be no deduction for un-attempted question.

The duration of examination and distribution of marks will be as follows:

ADMIT CARD

Admit card for Diploma can be downloaded from the APJEE website(www.apjee.in) using the candidates “User Name” and “Password” madeavailable during registration.

NOTE: The Admit Card shall also be required at the time of nomination ofthe candidate as well as during admission in the institution andshould therefore be preserved carefully.

EXAMINATION CENTRES:

Examination on the scheduled and notified dates shall be conducted atvarious centres at Itanagar.

PROCEDURE OF EXAMINATION:

On the scheduled day of examination, candidate must report to theExamination Centre at least 30 minutes before commencement of theexamination and occupy his/her seat at least 15 minutes before examination.

Candidate must bring his/her own Ball Point Pen and Admit Card only atthe time of examination. No other items shall be allowed inside theExamination Hall.

The Admit Card must be produced on demand at the time of examination.

At the time of examination, candidate shall be provided with an OMRAnswer Sheet along with the Test Booklet.

Candidate should thoroughly read the instructions published in the TestBooklet before attempting any questions.

Candidate should answer by darkening the appropriate bubble (only one)in the OMR Answer sheet with Ball Point Pen as instructed in the Test Bookletand as explained in the sample given in the Information Brochure.

Possession of mobile phone, pager, calculator and otherobjectionable materials is not allowed inside the examination hall.

All the rules and regulations regarding behavior of candidates in theexamination hall shall be same as that of CBSE and other Board examinations.

DECLARATION OF RESULT:

Result of APJEE will be declared category wise in the form of MERIT LISTfor all the candidates who have appeared the examination.



MERIT LIST will be prepared separately for Diploma courses.

Two or more candidates securing same mark in the APJEE will be placedin the same rank. However their inter-se merit shall be determined on the basisof the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying Board/UniversityExamination.

Result once declared will be final and no request for re-examination ofanswer sheets shall be entertained.

DISTRIBUTION OF SEATS FOR SELECTION & NOMINATION OFCANDIDATES:

The distribution of seats will be as per the Reservation Policy of the Statefor admission to technical / professional institutions as may be notified and / oramended from time to time.

1(one) seat in Diploma in Engineering Course under Cat-I shall bereserved for Handicapped candidate. However, the candidate should haveappeared the APJEE and also should produce the requisite certificate from acompetent Medical Board. Further, the candidate should be capable ofundergoing the course with his/her physical condition.

COUNSELING AND NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES:

The dates regarding the counseling, selection and nomination ofcandidates shall be made available in the official website of the Directorate i.e.www.apdhte.nic.in and shall also be published in the local dailies of the State.

The date of Counseling for allotment of seats shall be finalized only onreceipt of allotment of seats from the Government of India.

Allotment of seat will be made strictly on the basis of merit list of APJEE.

Preference of candidates shall be considered subject to availability ofseats in the particular discipline as per his/her Merit position. No candidate,whosoever can, as a matter of right, ask for particular discipline or particularcollege/institution.

If any candidate, after issue of the nomination order, does not join orcontinue in the Institution and does not complete the prescribed course withoutsufficient reason, he/she will not be eligible for appearing the subsequent JEEs.

A candidate should immediately surrender his/her seat allotted on thebasis of his/her performance in the APJEE if he/she does not desire to undergothe course whatsoever the reason may be.

The Government of Arunachal Pradesh reserves the right of nomination ofeligible candidates if the situation so demands.

At the time of counseling, the candidates will have to produce the followingdocuments to be eligible for allotment of seats:

1. Original Marks Card/ Pass Certificate of the qualifying examination.

2. Certificate to ascertain the category of the candidate i.e.

i. ST Certificate for Cat.-I

ii. Employment Certificate from respective employers or DomicileCertificate issued by First Class Magistrate during 2018 for Cat.-II.

Candidates are also advised to keep the following documents, (in originalalong with 03 (Three) sets of photocopies of these documents attested by aGazetted Officer ready for submission at the time of obtaining Nomination Letter:

1. Pass Certificate of the Qualifying Examination

2. Mark-sheet of the Qualifying Examination

3. School Leaving/ Transfer Certificate

4. Class X Pass Certificate for verification of age

5. Character/ Conduct Certificate from the institution last attended

6. Migration Certificate

7. SC/ST Certificate

8. Parents’ Employment Certificate from the appointing authority orDomicile Certificate issued by First Class Magistrate during 2018 forCategory-II.

9. Permanent Residential Certificate

10.Medical Fitness Certificate

RAJIV GANDHI GOVT. POLYTECHNIC, ITANAGAR:

Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic (Formerly Arunachal PradeshPolytechnic) has been set up under the Technician Education Project-III ofMinistry of Human Resource Development, Government of India with the



financial assistance from World Bank. It is located near Dera NatungGovernment College in Itanagar.
