The Structural Collapse Technician course is a competency based program designed to meet the requirements of NFPA 1670 and is FLUSAR training compliant. The hands-on portion teaches students how to safely and efficiently operate at the collapse site of a wood-framed/concrete block structure and offers practice in breaching, bracing, search of collapse structures and void spaces, construction of shoring and victim removal.

NFA Decision Making for Initial Company Operations

Decision Making for Initial Company Operations is designed to develop the decision making skills needed by Company Officers (COs) to accomplish assigned tactics at structure fires. All activities and

scenarios used in this course are based on structure fires. As a Company Officer (CO) with the real possibility of being the first to arrive at an incident, the CO’s initial decisions will have an impact

throughout the entire incident. It is vital that they be able to make good management decisions that have a favorable impact on the eventual outcome. In addition to a possible role as the initial Incident

Commander (IC), the CO may well be assigned a subordinate position within the ICS organization. COs need to have a clear understanding of the system, the position they are assigned, and their role in the organization if they are to function effectively and help make the system work. Successful completion

of a written exam is required to receive a certificate.

Emergency Use & Evacuation of Elevators by Firefighters

Emergency Use & Evacuation of Elevators by Firefighters is based on the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) A17.4 standard Guide for Emergency Personnel. Tailored

specifically for fire personnel, this course is delivered in a classroom setting. The first half is an instructor led discussion followed by a hands-on practical application covering techniques identified during the lecture. There are five main objectives identified: 1) identifying types of passenger elevators; 2) discussing evacuation procedures from stuck elevators; 3) practicing evacuation procedures from stuck elevators; 4) discussing use of Fireman Control Phase I &

Phase II during fire emergencies; 5) practicing with Fireman Control Phase I & Phase II under controlled conditions. The class will be instructed by subject matter expert retired District

ICS300 Intermediate Incident Command System

ICS 300 provides the student with the knowledge of how NIMS ICS is used to manage and expanding incident, and how to apply the incident action planning process. The course covers ICS fundamentals review, unified

command, incident/event assessment and establishing objectives, resource management, planning process, demobilization, transfer of command and

close, and expands upon the prerequisites of ICS100 and ICS200. This class will use the NWCG curriculum without variance using an approved NWCG

ICS400 Advanced ICS Command and General Staff Complex Incidents

This course provides training and resources for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System.

The target audience for this course includes senior personnel who are expected to perform in a management capacity at an incident or event. This includes individuals who may serve as Incident Commander or as members of the Command or General Staff, Area Command, or Multiagency Coordination

Group/Emergency Operations Center (EOC) management. This course expands upon information covered in the ICS-100 through

ICS-300 courses. These earlier courses are prerequisites for ICS-400. Successful completion of a written exam is required to receive a certificate.

40-HOUR INITIAL TRAININGThis class meets all FAA standards for initial training for airport firefighters. The class emphasizes the lecture materials by reinforcing with practical applications in a variety of scenarios including rescue, airport familiarization and firefighting techniques. Students will receive live fire experience and training in accordance with FAR 139.

Rope Rescue Operations This course meets the requirements of NFPA 1670 and is designed for the emergency responder who may be called upon to locate, gain access to, stabilize and remove patients in a high angle environment. Confined Space Operational and Technical is a 40-hour course designed for members of confined space rescue teams and is based on standards established in NFPA 1670. Students will perform victim retrieval in simulated and actual confined spaces. This course combines 24 hours of instruction at the operational level with 16 hours of instruction at the technician level. It includes simple and compound rope hauling systems as well as advanced confined space entry and extrication techniques.

Students will start with the basics and progress towards real world forcible entry challenges and will have a great understanding on the “whys” of forcible entry. Truck Company Operations

This course teaches a wide range of fundamental fire truck operations necessary for the professional firefighter. Rope Rescue Technician This course in advanced rope rescue systems satisfies the requirements of NFPA 1640 4-4 Rope Rescue Technician. At the conclusion of the course, each student shall demonstrate the proper use of standard rope rescue techniques within the high-angle/low-angle environment. Students will learn how to construct single and multiple point anchor systems, demonstrate proper procedure for knot passing through a rope system and movement of a victim in a high-angle or vertical environment.
