I am in a position to offer you an internship in St. Louis City Hospital No. 2 for a term of one year beginning July 1, 1925, if you will sign and return one copy of the enclosed agreement. It will be necessary for the dean or secretary of your college to witness same.

Please read the contract agreement carefully before signing, in order that you will understand the conditions fully, and return one copy to me not later than February 27. 1925: otherwise, other applicants will have to be considered.

By calling at this office on or before July 1,19 25, you will receive a letter to the Superintendent of City Hospital No. 2. It is essential that you report for duty on or before the first of July, in order to get the instructions which are given to the men at that time.

So "It Gan Be Done"! You have demonstrated your conviction. I certainly congratulate you most heartily and wish you every measure of success in the work still ahead of you in preparation for your life of service to your own land and people.

I have thought of you very many times in these past months. JSvery report I have had of you has teen good and has been heard with rejoioing on my part. The Bishop wrote very commendatory letters to the Trustees of Mahary and I trust your position there for next year is assured and that you will find great joy in your tasks.

I am leaving in a few moments for New York for my usual Committee meetings, and I cannot write at length. My mother and I shall be in Chicago next Monday afternoon.We expect to meet Mrs. Caldwell at the Congress Hotel at one-thirty in the afternoon. VSe have arranged to meet on the second floor in the ladies'parlor. If you are at leisure it would be possible for us to have a few moments visit at that time and it would give us pleasure to see you.

You must think that I have completely lost the ability to reply to letters. Your letter of this fall has been carried in my pocket ever since it was received. The delay at first was in order that I might be able to answer your inquiry regarding Doctor Bell's text in pathology. I did not know the nethod of handling this and it seemed to take me a long while to make inquiries

I am very glad indeed to send you a copy with my co pliments. I hope that it will be of interest to you as a souvenir of your work here.

I was very greatly pleased to have the report from Doctor Northrup regarding your work. Though belated I want to give you my hearty congratulations on the com­pletion of your long pull and wish for you every success in your future work.
