The scholarship award for the 2018-2019 school year went to Judy Tucker, a student at the University of NM. She is a pre-med student majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Music. Applications Being Accepted for Emily Sannebeck Scholarship

Asbury United Methodist Church is accepting applications for the Emily Sannebeck Scholarship. The scholarship is for $2000 for the 2019 - 2020 school year. Applicants should be enrolled or applying for enrollment in a seminary, technical or vocational school, or a college. Preference shall be given to single women, but any needy student may apply. The scholarship fund was established in memory of Emily Sannebeck who was an active member of the Methodist Church for many years. She cared deeply for the development of Christian values and the opportunities for women to advance their careers. This year will be the 21st year of awarding the scholarship. Shine Conference is a one-day event where Shine Partner Churches, APS faculty, guest speakers, and our team come together to give you the best resources on developing your community through the local public school. We take a church beyond just donating material goods to building transformational relationships. We provide high-quality content and an open view into the impact that Shine Partnerships are having in Albuquerque.

Their Reading Program encourages members to think critically about current issues through an annual selection of member-reviewed books. The books on the list offer an excellent opportunity to deepen your spirituality and broaden your understanding of their mission work. Spiritual Enrichment Retreat: The NM Conference UMW Spiritual Enrichment Retreat will begin Friday, March 8th and run through Sunday, March 10th at the Sacramento Camp and Conference Center in

Sacramento, NM. Applications need to be turned into Marjorie Bahm immediately; the Unit pays for registration. Contact Carolyn Sparks for more information. Meet Me for Lunch! UMW Luncheon March 3rd! We will be meeting on Sunday, March 3rd, at 12:30 for lunch and to learn about the upcoming KAIROS mission to the women's prison in Grants. The KAIROS Agape Coordinator, Karen Witte, is our guest speaker. The Hannah Circle will host this luncheon. Unit meetings are open to all women in the Asbury community and the greater Albuquerque area. Childcare is available. Please join us for Christian friendship and fellowship! UMW & Shine Partnership Program: We support the Shine Partnership program for our local Matheson Park elementary school. Founded on March 23, 1869 by eight women in Boston, we are now the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members. We serve women, children, and youth throughout the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world. As a tribute to our legacy, please consider donating $18.69 to the UMW Legacy Fund.
