220 Sport Blooming Garden Scarf By Cristina Mershon

A fun and easy scarf to make, and even more fun to wear! The different color flowers and leafs turn a winter essential into a very special and original garment. The body of the scarf is done first and then all the little ele-ments are added one at a time. Feel free to position them anywhere you want them or change colors for a different effect MATERIALS Cascade 220 Wool, 50gr. skeins (100% peruvian wool) in colors: -Color A: #8903 (pistachio green), 2 skeins of 50 gr. -Color B: #9404 (cranberry). 1 skein of 50 gr. -Color C: #7804 (coral pink). 1 skein of 50 gr. -Color D: #7827 (yellow). 1 skein of 50 gr. -Color E: #9430 (dark green). 1 skein of 50 gr. -Color F: #9478 (buble gum pink). 1 skein of 50 gr. Hook size F/5 (3.75 mm) Tapestry needle Polyester filling for the round balls ABBREVIATIONS beg = beginning dc = double crochet hdc = half double crochet lps = loops sc = single crochet sl = slip stitch sp = space st = stitch rp = repeat yo = yarn over sc2tog = small crochet 2 together SPECIAL STITCHES Picot: Ch 3, sc on top of the sc. Sc2tog (Small crochet 2 together): Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop (2 loops on hook), in-sert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook—whichi create a one stitch decreased.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE MAIN BODY OF THE SCARF With color A, ch 203. We will be working on both sides of the chain. Rnd 1: Dc on 4th ch from hook, and dc on evey chain, for a total of 200 dcs. We are going to keep working around the ch on the other side. So, on las ch do 8 dcs and turn work to start working the oposite side of the ch another 200 chs. On las ch work another 7 dcs and sl st. Rnd 2: Ch 3, 200 dc on back lp on every dc from previous rnd, 2dc on next 6 dcs, 200 dcs and 2 dc on next 6 dcs. Sl st on beg ch. Rnd 3: Ch 3, *[200 dcs on back lp, 2 dcs on back lps on next 10 dcs]. Rep * once and sl st on beg ch. Rnd 4: Ch 3, *[204 dc on back lp, 2 dcs on back lps on next 12 dcs]. Rep * once and sl st on beg ch. Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc on same st, sc and picot. 3 sc and picot on every st until the end of the rnd. Fas-ten off. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BIG ROSE With color B, ch 63 and turn. Rnd 1: Dc on 4th ch from hook, ch 1 and dc on same 4th ch. *[Skip 1 ch, dc-ch 1-dc], rep * 18 times to the end of the rnd and dc on last ch, for a total of 20 small V-st. Turn. Rnd 2: Ch 3, skip dc and *[2 dcs, 3 ch, 2 dcs in 1-ch lp]. Rep * 19 times to the end of the rnd, and turn. Rnd 3: Ch 3, skip dc and *[9 dc on 3-ch lp, skip 2 dcs and sc in space between V-st]. Rep * 19 times to the end of the rnd and fasten off, leaving at least one feet of yarn to allow for sewing the flower into the scarf. Roll the crocheted strip into a spiral shape, using the extra yarn left of the project to sew it to-gether. INSTRUCTIONS FOR PINK DAISY With color C, ch 5 and turn and close with a sl st to form a ring. Rnd 1: Ch 1 (counts as a sc), 13 sc in ring, join with a sl st in first sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, *[3 dc in next st, 1 sc on next st]. Rep from * to create a total of 5 petals, and join last sc in beg ch with a sl st. Rnd 3: On this round we start building a base of chains to create the next row of petals. So working behind rnd 2, ch 1, *[ch 3, 1 sc in the back of sc from previous row], rep * to create a total of 5 lps. Join with sl st of beg ch. Rnd 4: Ch 1, *[1 hdc-5 dc-1hdc on next 3-ch space, sc in sc from previous rnd]. Rep * on next 3-ch lps for a total of 5 petals, and join with sl st of first ch of beg ch. Rnd 5: Working behind rnd 4, ch 1, *[ch 5, 1 sc in the back of sc from previous row], rep * to create a total of 5 lps. Join with sl st of beg ch. Rnd 6: Ch 1, *[1 hdc-7 dc-1hdc on next 5-ch space, sc in sc from previous rnd]. Rep * on next 5-ch lps for a total of 5 petals, and join with sl st of first ch of beg ch. Make the following: 2 in Color E / DARK GREEN with ch 3 in Color E / DARK GREEN without the ch after the leaf 1 in Color A / PISTACHO GREEN with ch

1 in Color A / PISTACHO GREEN without the ch after the leaf With color E or A, ch 17. Rnd 1: Dc in the 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each of next 6 ch, 1 hdc in each of next 5 ch, 1 sc in next 2 ch, 2 ch (this is the end of the ch). Working across opposite side of foundation ch, 1 sc on next 2 ch, 1 hdc in next 5 ch, 1 dc on next 7 ch. Ch 3 and sl st in last dc. Ch 15. Fasten off and leave at least 12 inch. of yarn to allow for sewing the leaf into the scarf. Sew all the pieces together as you see in the picture and wear it in different ways for a totally different effect.
