The event was capped by the giving of tokens and certificates of attendance to all countries. This event was an epitome of the unity among ASEAN member states and the Republic of India. It was a celebration of the bonds that they make with their neighboring countries, despite and beyond the diversity of culture and tradition. While there was a strong need for each of them to imbibe and proudly live by the mark of their own cultural and national identity, there was an even greater need for them to transcend and reach out to others, recognizing that they can all work hand in hand to make peace and progress in the world that they all live in.

After the culmination of this full day session with the ASEAN ambassadors and distinguished guests, they headed to the Indian Handicrafts Exhibition – Dilli Haat, in New Delhi for one last shopping spree.

(2) Dilli Haat:

The Dilli haat, is an open aircraft bazaar cum food plaza that has many shops selling handicraft, pottery, and souvenirs symbolic of India. It was a great experience, and the delegates were able to purchase many nice souvenirs and mementos for keepsake.

In the end, delegates were filled with satisfaction and joy with hands and bags full of presents which they will carry to their home countries, as well as learnings from the Indian trade and art experience.

Day 9: 23rd January 2018

Amity university, Noida, uttar Pradesh

It was the last day of their journey in India and they were so excited. It was cold 9°C - but they were welcomed by the warm hospitality of the students and hot brewed coffee and jasmine tea. They gathered in the university conference room for an introduction and orientation.

The university operates Amity Law School, Amity Business School and Amity Global Business School. Amity University was accredited by the NAAC (National Accreditation and Assessment Council) with grade A in 2012.

They enjoyed the interactive session with the local students. The best way to truly understand the life in India is from first-hand experiences. They learnt better what it was like growing up in Delhi and their attitudes towards the prospects of the working life. These opinions were genuine and impossible through secondary resources; hence it made the information shared a more meaningful one.

The local students then took them around the university and they could see the school culture of India first hand. Apart from the designated students accompanying them, even the other students they interacted with were friendly. It proved to be an effective networking session where great bonds between like-minded youths from different cultural backgrounds were forged.

The students were divided in three groups, Like Science, Engineering and Management. It was a discussion on Business study opportunities in Amity, the state-of-the-art facilities and the innovative teaching methods being utilized to ensure a quality management education. They enjoyed the session and actively participated in it.

Finally, as they all had to leave for the airport to leave for their respective countries they went to the hotel to prepare. After 10 days bonhomie and togetherness the moment of separation was an emotional one. Happy to know that they have stronger bonds with their friends in the ASEAN Countries now but tearful and with a heavy heart they boarded the bus to the airport.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, from the feedback we understand this exchange program has allowed them to understand our ASEAN-India ties much more deeply, and allowed them to realize the limitless opportunities that lies across the border in India. Also, this program has enriched them with a multitude of insights and knowledge, and has inspired many of them to seek new areas of cooperation between India and ASEAN countries. We strongly believe that these takeaways will help maintain a sustainable relationship of kinship between the ASEAN countries, and India.
