Welcome Rev. Dr. Thom Jones
The Rev. Dr. Thom Jones is a retired elder in the SC United Methodist Conference. He served as our pastor at Ashland from 1994 – 2001. Throughout his ministry he has been active in the community. He currently serves as one of the chaplains at Lexington Medical Center. When Thom came to Ashland, he brought his gift of joy. In his first sermon he announced that he liked to hug people --- the young, the old, men, women and children. And to this day he remains the same. We celebrate that Thom, Sue, and the Sox family continue to worship here at Ashland, and we welcome Thom to the pulpit today!

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Covered Dish Lunch to Welcome
Rev. Scott Efird and Family SPRC is hosting a covered dish lunch following the 11 am service on Sunday, June 30th. Plan to bring a dish to share and welcome Rev. Efird, his wife, Aimee, and three children, Emmaleigh, Elizabeth and Evan to Ashland UMC.
Name Tags Members are asked to make an extra effort to pick up and wear a name tag during June as well as the coming summer months as our new minister and family will be arriving soon. The name tags are located in the Narthex. Wearing the tags will help them in getting to know our Ashland Congregation. The name tags have been checked, updated, and replaced missing ones. Thank you for helping us in this important way! ~Rebecca Swanson, Hospitality and Outreach Chairman
