the chinese outdoor market is the fastest-growing in the world. During the last 10 years the market has seen growth of between 25 – 30 % every year. China is on its way to beeing
the number 3 of the largest outdoor markets behind the USA and Europe within the next 3 years. The trend towards physical fitness and better health is a strong driver for the outdoor market and the market for sports bikes in China.
At present, many Chinese suppliers are experiencing rapid growth. The turnover of brands such as TOREAD, KAILAS, NORTHLAND or MOBI GARDEN have increased between 30 – 50 % per year. If the growth keeps on chinese brands will reach a market share of 50 % until of 2015.
China offers international brands perfect entry into their market – including successful national brands. Chinese traders and consumers are still highly interested in international brands, especially European and US brands. They are mostly interested in brands that are already known on the market, either through the Internet or other Chinese media.

The coordinator of Asia Outdoor and asia bike is Knut Jaeger, who is responsible for the marketing strategy of the two events. Both shows run with the support of the Nanjing City Government. Knut Jaeger, co-founder of “OutDoor” Friedrichshafen in 1994 and Asia Outdoor in 2006, has worked as a consultant in Hong Kong and China since 2004. The Chairman of German Messe is to link with Messe Friedrichshafen/Germany, (organizer of OutDoor/EUROBIKE) and coordinate the international marketing strategy.
