“ARROW” – PEREGRINE 18, THE CLASSIC ROWBOAT This elegant ‘fast picnic rowboat’ is an original design, built in 1997 by John Brooks of Brooks Boats on Mt. Desert Island, Maine. Weighing just over 100 lbs., “Arrow’s” sleek looks define her performance as a stable, seaworthy, and very fast hull. She has been carefully used and maintained such that today Arrow is in extraordinary condition. Protected by a fleece-lined custom cover and garaged when not in use, this wherry has custom 8-foot spoon blade oars of Sitka spruce and oak tips with leather wraps and custom polished titanium oarlocks. The single rowing station has a contoured seat of eastern pine and an adjustable foot counter. Traditional hand-carved thwarts provide the fore and aft seating over cedar floorboards. This hull has a four-foot beam and a keel-to-shear depth of just 15 inches. Built with exceptional craftsmanship, the glued lapstrake planking is 5mm Shelman sapele plywood. The stem, transom, gunwales and keelson are Honduran mahogany, with the outer keel and outer stem white oak. The skeg is also white oak but with a sapele plywood endplate. The midframe is laminated mahogany and all half frames and risers are white oak. Asking $14,500
