Main Features

Feature Description Customer Benefits

Extended rate

• Up to 11.4 Mbps/ 15 Mbps

• Special RAD proprietary solution provides extended rates of up to 15 Mbps over 2-wire lines.

• Cost effective solution for Ethernet services

• Enables higher rate over only one pair

Single segment (link) IEEE 802.3-2005former 802.3ah)

• Operation, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) - discovers automatically if next hop supports 802.3ah and enable remote loopback of all traffic, fault propagation and connectivity check

• Detects line faults

• Measures performance on the SHDSL line

EOC (Embedded Operational Channel) management

• Remote loopbacks at the SHDSL repeater

• Monitoring alarms from the repeaters

• Indication on the SHDSL/SHDSL.bis repeaters on the chain

• Enables clear and high reliability in case of failure of one of repeaters

Alarm masking • Disables or enables the alarms on each port

• Improved maintenance and management control of the ETH, E1 and SHDSL alarms

Page 13: ASMi-54L v.2.67 GA

Main Features

Feature Description Customer Benefits

Rate limiting• Limits the ingress data rate on each Ethernet port

• Enables control and better utilization of the ETH traffic

Single IP support • LRS-102 uses Single IP (defined in central LRS-102 or MP-4100) to manage remote modems (via RADview only)

• Prevent the need to define many IP address at the remote sites

Dying Gasp

• ASMi-54L reports power failuresto the specified network management stations by sendingan SNMP trap

• Helps a service provider identifyand isolate the end-point deviceexperienced a power failure

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration

Protocol)

• Automates network parametersassignment to network devicesfrom one or more DHCP servers

• Simplifies host configuration• Eliminates wrong networkparameters configuration

BPDU (BridgeProtocol DataUnit)

• BPDU messages are exchangedacross bridges to detect loops ina network topology

• Single segment (link) according to IEEE 802.3ah:

Passive and Active functionality modes supported. Discovery - ASMi54L device will automatically detect if

attached device supports OAM (802.3ah) and present the following information: OAM configuration, OAM mode, OAM PDU configuration and Platform Identity by MAC address.

Connectivity check - in case of OAM supported, the ASMi54L can provide details regard connectivity. It count number of seconds that connectivity were lost. The granularity is 1-10 frames every second.
