What is in the VBE?
• A vocabulary contains concepts or terms• It can have structure– simple lists, hierarchical taxonomies, thesauri and ontologies.
• The vocabularies are used to:– define preferred words and definitions– provide controlled lists for use in metadata– share structures for navigation– carry additional information to support user interfaces or
searching– provide mappings between terms
