Sanctification Definition:

The process of living out our new reality in Christ and

becoming more like Him to be set apart for Gods

glory and purposes.

Genesis 12:1-3

1 The LORD had said to Abram, Go from your

country, your people and your fathers household to

the land I will show you. 2 I will make you into areat nation, and I will bless you; I will make your

name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless

those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will

curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed

through you.

2. Covenant with the nation of Israel

Exodus 19:5,6

Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then

out of all nations you will be my treasured

ossession. Although the whole earth is mine, youwill be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.

These are the words you are to speak to the

Israelites.

who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints,

together with all those who in every place call on the

name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and

ours:

3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father andthe Lord Jesus Christ.

9 Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inheritthe kingdom of God? Do not be deceived!

Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes,

sodomites, 10 thieves, the greedy, drunkards, revilers,

ou were washed, you were sanctified, you were

ustified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in

the Spirit of our God.

nd it is by Gods will that we have been sanctified

through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once

for all.

The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles,

some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and

teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of

ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until allof us come to the unity of the faith and of the

knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the

measure of the full stature of Christ.

What is at stake when we do not make progress in

sanctification?

Spend some time this week asking the Holy Spirit to

show you areas in your life that dont show you are

set apart to reflect God or serve His purposes.
