HOMEPAGE Type the www.aspiredlapiper.com into your browser and you will be automatically signed into the DLA Piper ASPIRE Recognition website via Single Sign On. You are automatically directed to the Homepage which displays quick links to all the content and functionality of the recognition website.

STAR RECOGNITION See who is being recognized today! Click on either the STAR RECOGNITION link or on the JOIN THE CELEBRATION link, located on the home page to start using DLA Piper’s Social Recognition platform. The Newsfeed is a continuously updating list of public posts from DLA Piper ASPIRE users and acts as a Newsfeed for all of the recognition going on within DLA Piper.

Once you are inside STAR RECOGNITION and can view the Newsfeed, there are a multitude of options available to you. You can review all recognitions, search for keywords, write a status, comment and LIKE a post and send a STAR e-card.

Use the left hand menu to navigate and explore STAR RECOGNITION.

STAR E-card Send non-monetary recognition with an e-card through the STAR RECOGNITION module. Click on STAR E-card on the left hand menu to start.

Send an e-card to recognize a colleague for something great they did while living the DLA Piper values or send them a thoughtful note on their service anniversary.

Browse the e-card designs by scrolling through the images or refine your search by clicking the category names.

Once you have chosen an e-card design, fill out the To: and CC: fields based on whom you will be sending the recognition. As you begin to type the name of the recipient, a drop down list will populate to help you easily find who you are looking for.

Choose your Share with option for the purpose of the Newsfeed. If you want to share this recognition publicly, choose Public. This means everyone on the DLA Piper ASPIRE platform will be able to see the recognition and will be able to comment or LIKE it. If you want to keep the recognition private, you can do so by choosing Private and the recognition will only populate on the Newsfeed of the recipient and any others that have been copied. You can also create a list via the Contact Lists option and share with the people you have included in your list. More on Contact Lists a little later.

Finally, write a meaningful message and click Next to review the details. If you no longer wish to send an e-card, click Reset to return to the Newsfeed or click Previous if you want to change the e-card design you originally chose.

Take a moment to review the details of the e-card you are about to send. To make any changes, click Previous. When you are ready to send the e-card, click Sumbit.

Once your e-card has been successfully sent, a confirmation message will display.

Create a new e-card by clicking the Create New button or view the e-card on the Newsfeed with the Click here link in the confirmation text.

Similar to the Recognition Newsfeed is My Wall. To get here, click on My Wall on the left of the Recognition Newsfeed page. In this section you will be able to see all recognition posts linked to you. You can also write a status, comment and LIKE a post from this section as well.

Go to the My Profile page to change your photo and to manage your privacy settings.

To change your profile picture, click the pencil on the bottom of the photo. A new window will open with access to your computer files. Choose a new photo and click Open.

Once the new photo appears in the profile picture box, choose Save Changes to finalize the change.

Write a Status Have something that you would like to share? Why not write a status? Simply write your status in the field provided and decide who you would like to share it with.

By selecting Public as your post sharing preference, you are allowing everyone on the ASPIRE recognition website to see your post.

Add Comments Adding a c omment is exactly like writing a status. Write your comment in the field provided under the person’s post and click ENTER.

Like a Post Once someone posts something (e-card/status/comment), anyone is free to LIKE it. This shows that you “like” what the other person has said. To do so, click on the STAR LIKE icon [ ] next to the post.

Once you have clicked LIKE, a blue star and a number will appear next to the tab. The number represents the amount of times that post was Liked. Removing a LIKE is the same as adding one, simply click the LIKE and it is removed. By clicking the star [ ] you can see who else has liked the post or comment.

Flag for Review If you notice a post that you deem inappropriate you can flag it for review. A post that is flagged for review will automatically be hidden in the feed and will only be visible to administrators and the person who flagged it until it is reviewed. To flag a post, simply click the small arrow on the right hand corner of the post and choose Flag for review. A new screen will open where you will be required to add additional information regarding why you are flagging this post.

In this section, you can also Hide any content that does not interest you or that you do not want to see.

Contact Lists Lists are a great way to group your colleagues into specific “teams.” An example of this would be a group project that was completed and you would like to create a List of those people to send specific messages to. You can create, modify or delete your Lists at any time. Choose a name for your List and click Add to start adding people to it. As you type the name of colleagues, a list will populate.

Once you have added everyone you want to your list, click Save. At any time, click the name of your List to make changes.

Once you have created your Lists, you can Add colleagues to those Lists. You can also remove people from a List at any time by clicking the X next to their names.

Online Statement The Online Statement is where you will find all the information on your Points and your award transactions.

You can always see how many Points you have in your account by looking in the top right corner of the website page.

The Online Statement is similar to your banking statement and will display all your Debits and Credits by date. You can view your account details in terms of the time period of your choice.

By clicking on a transaction in particular, a new section will expand that will display all the transaction details. The information displayed differs depending on if the transaction is a Credit of points into your account or a Debit of points being withdrawn for an award redemption.

The Order Details will show you all of your order information, the address you chose to ship to and all the details about the award you selected.

The Nomination Details page displays all the information on the monetary recognition you received.

GEM AWARD NOMINATION The GEM AWARD NOMINATION module is where a user with permissions to send monetary recognition can send nominations.

Access to the GEM Nomination module by clicking the GEM AWARD NOMINATION tab on the main top menu throughout the ASPIRE website or via the left hand menu when you are in the STAR RECOGNITION module.

A user can go through the GEM Nomination in two ways. Use the small wand on the right of the screen to go through a step by step process of the nomination or switch to a one step page where all the details can be filled out and submitted as pictured below.

GEM One Step Process:

Step 1: Select the Recipient(s) you want to recognize and the Share with preference

Choose the recipient(s) you want to nominate for monetary recognition. Copy anyone you think is relevant to the nomination. The recipient’s Chief Officer will automatically be copied on the nomination.

Click Next to continue, or Reset to start over.

Step 2: Select the DLA Piper behavior you are recognizing this accomplishment for

Choose the DLA Piper behavior that best reflects the action you are recognizing.

Step 3: Select an e-card image to accompany your nomination

Choose from one of the e-card designs available by browsing all the categories and choosing the one most appropriate to your nomination. You may want to browse the category tied to the behavior for which you are nominating for a more accurate depiction.

Click Reset or Previous to clear your selection or to return to the previous step. When you are content with your e-card choice, click Next.

Step 4: Write a relevant, detailed message

Here is your chance to give the approver and the recipient a full understanding of why the recipient is truly deserving of this recognition. Use specific examples and clear content.

Step 5: Select the Point Value you are nominating for

Choose the value you want to send with your nomination. Use the evaluative guidelines associated to each point value to determine the amount that fits best with the nomination.

Step 6: Review the nomination

Take a minute to review the details of the nomination. If you need to make any changes, click Previous.

If everything looks good, click Submit to send the nomination.

Step 7: Confirmation

Once the confirmation displays, your nomination has been successfully sent for review and approval.

REDEEM AWARDS

The REDEEM AWARDS section is where staff and paralegals can see the award selection available to them for redemption.

Your Points and the Shopping Cart are available throughout the ASPIRE Recognition website in the top right header.

Scan the Reward Catalog by selecting categories to refine your search or by scrolling the pages.

You can also view the Reward Catalog in Grid or List view. Grid view will display the awards by their photo, title description and point value. Click the photo of an award to get more details.

The List view displays a full description of the award, the point denomination and the option to Add to Cart.

Shopping Cart & Checkout Process

Once you have found an award you like, click the Add to Cart button to start the checkout process. If your award has been successfully added to the Shopping Cart, a confirmation message will display and a “1” will appear in the Shopping Cart icon at the top right corner of the website.

Click Checkout on the pop-up message to go to the Shopping Cart or Continue Shopping to continue browsing the catalog.

Inside the Shopping Cart, you can update the quantity of items by entering a new number and clicking Update. You can empty your cart by clicking on the Remove button.

Your points summary including your balance, the denomination of the award you are choosing and your remaining balance is also displayed in the Shopping Cart.

If you are not finished, click Continue Shopping to go back to the Reward Catalog.

Once you are content with your order, click Checkout to start the checkout process.

Step 1: Confirm your selection

The award image and description will display for your review. Click Continue to checkout or Cancel if you have changed your mind.

Step 2: Review the Shipping Details

A shipping address is pre-populated, but if you want to change the address, just edit the fields. Please note that all the fields with asterisks are mandatory.

Click Continue to continue the checkout process or Cancel if you have changed your mind.

Step 3: Review your Order Summary

This is the last page of review before you submit your order. Take the time to review all the details of your selection, shipping address and points balance. Make certain you are satisfied with your order as once it is submitted, it is final. Click Submit Your Selection to place your order or Back to make any required modifications.

Once you click Submit Your Selection and the confirmation page appears, your order has been successfully submitted.

Print this page for your records if you wish. All of your order information will be e-mailed to you.

Step 4: Confirmation

A confirmation message will display once your order has been successfully submitted. When you are finished, click Return to Homepage to continue navigating the ASPIRE website.

You will also receive an e-mail notification in Outlook with details of your redemption.

The Frequently Asked Questions section is where you will be able to find the most commonly asked questions and answers about the ASPIRE Recognition website.

Scroll the page to read the FAQs that are categorized by STAR Recognition and then GEM Nominations. Some of the key words are also hyperlinks to those specified sections for easy navigation.

The Recognition Tips page can be accessed through the ASPIRE website Homepage in the quick links towards the bottom of the page.

This is a static content page where Nominators can get advice on why, for what and denomination definitions for sending nominations.

This is a static content page where Users can read about the different capabilities and functionalities of the DLA Piper ASPIRE Recognition website.

MAILBOX

To view or track your incoming and outgoing recognitions, click on the Mailbox icon located in the top right-hand menu found throughout the website.

Users have access to two mailboxes in the ASPIRE program; one to track monetary GEM Nominations and Recognition and one to track all the activity happening on the STAR Recognition social stream.

GEM Nominations Recognition Mailbox

You can view the GEM Nomination Mailbox by clicking the icon in the top header menu of the website at any time.

Use the drop down menu inside the mailbox to categorize your messages and view them as you desire. When a message is Unread, it will appear bolded.

The look of this Mailbox will vary slightly if you are a User that is an Approver for Nominations or if you are simply a User that strictly receives Nominations. If a message in the GEM Nomination Inbox requires action by you, you will see the Accept or Reject options on the right side of the message title.

An Approver can approve or reject the nomination from this screen or open the nomination to view all the details before they approve the nomination.

All the messages in this Mailbox are color coded for easy differentiation.

Below is what an approved nomination looks like. You can review all the details including the history of the nomiation.

STAR Social Recognition Mailbox

You can view the STAR Recognition Mailbox by clicking the icon in the top header menu of the website at any time.

Use the drop down menu inside the mailbox to categorize your message and view them as you desire.

When a message is Unread, it will appear bolded. All unread messages can also be found in the Unread category of the drop down menu.

When you click on a particular message, it will display just as it is showing on the Newsfeed.

In this section, you can Archive the message, Mark as Unread or use the arrow to go back to the Mailbox.

You can Like or Add a Comment to the STAR Recognition directly from the message in your Mailbox or view it on the Newsfeed.

You can access the Contact Us link at any time throughout the DLA Piper ASPIRE Recognition website. The Contact Us link is found in the website footer.

Fill out the Contact Us form with your inquiry. Make sure to write a clear message.

Once you are finished with your inquiry, click Send. You will receive a confirmation message. Someone from the DLA Piper Administration team will get back to you with a reply as soon as possible.
