cabinet, visitors, invited Grants to theater, met with Vice-President
• 2pm - lunch with Mrs. Lincoln• 3pm to 8pm – met with former slave, various other
individuals including a one-armed soldier, carriage ride
• 8pm – arrived Ford’s theater late, actors paused for playing of ‘Hail to the Chief’, the play American Cousin resumed
