16studentstogaugetheirwritingability.First,therewasthepersuasiverequirementandsecond,deliveringitthroughanewchannel,whicheachstudenthadtocreate.Sinceblogshavebecomeanextremelycredibleadvertisingformattoday,havingstudentsbecomingcomfortablewritingwithinthiscategorywasanimportantpartoftheassessment.Welearnedthatstudentsdidextremelywellwritingapersuasiveblog,whichencouragedconsumerstovisittheblogger’swebsitethatfeaturedaspecificproduct.Studentswerefamiliarwiththeformatandfollowedthepromptclosely,applyingtheirpersuasiveskillswellwithintheframework.Atotalof60studentscompletedtheassignment.ThreeCOMM351instructorsevaluatedstudentwork.Studentworkwasevaluatedas“A”quality(24),“B”quality(30),and“C”quality(6).Therefore,100%ofstudentsscoredsatisfactoryorabove.ThankyoutoPeteEvanow,EvaHedger,andMichelleKurlandforthisassessmentreport.
