Assign Class to Material Definition:- Class is the carrier of characteristics. It will hold any number of characteristics relevant to that class. Class will be assigned with the Material master (Classification view) to indicate that this class is applicable to that material. E.g. Food product will contain the characteristic Fat. This fat characteristic has to be attached with the class. This Class Food_Product has to be assigned with Material Master. Objective Class can be assigned to the material master either Through material master creation Through Class assignment transaction. Maintain the following data:- Field name Field Value Class Name identifying the class. E.g.

Food_Product Class type Class type uniquely identifying the

function of the class defined by SAP. E.g 022 to indicate it as Batch class.

Valid from Date from which it is valid. E.g. 02.01.2006

Maintain the data as explained below. Field name Field description and value Material Material code to which the batch

class is to be assigned. E.g Enter 2395960.

S –Status Indicates the status of assignment. E.g. Enter 1 to indicate Released. 2 Indicates Locked and 3 - Indicates incomplete.
