EXECUITIVE SUMMARY

Great Wall Ceramics Industries Ltd. is one of the leading ceramic companies in Bangladesh. It is our pleasure to do an assignment on such an organization. Great Wall Ceramics Industries Ltd started its journey as a limited company in 2006 by registration. It has been establishing as leading Ceramic Company in Bangladesh. It is not only making profit but also greatly contributing for welfare of society and common people. It is also greatly contributing to our national economy by creating employment.

Great Wall Ceramic Industries Ltd. conducts its activities form its corporate office situated at: 13/1, Paribagh, Sanargaon Road, Hatirpool, Dhaka-1000, Bangladesh.

This assignment conducted- on activities of marketing processes, center of excellence and planning of the company.

At the end we would like to say that our experience from Great Wall Ceramics Industries Ltd will make our career more worthy and competitive. We would also like to add that govt. steps are also necessary for further expansion of this industry across the globe.

Introduction

Bangladesh has been passing more than three decades after liberation. Since its independence Bangladesh has been trying to achieve self-reliant future and make the country able in all spheres of development. To create such a future the country supposed to make efficient and effective plans in business sector and imply them. The limited company is a form of business which helps her to do it easily.

Great Wall Ceramics Company Ltd. is such a company. It is one of the largest Tiles manufacturers in Bangladesh. This company was established in 2006 and started the commercial production in the same year. This company is always putting endeavor to achieve the cutting edge of its products and services with the new thoughts and advanced approach to meet the client’s desire. Their ultimate goal lies with serving their clients with the best products along with the services.

By this way this company would be able to contribute to national development.

Methodology of the study

Primary resources

We interviewed a concern of a limited company asking its operations of in a

whole.

Secondary resources

The secondary data had been collected from several relevant articles and web sites.

Limitation for the study

Inadequate information.

At the time of face to face discussion with officials was too much tough for

us as we were novice.

The submission time of assignment is too short to know about the total activities of an organization.

This is our first time visit in the organization. So, we have a limitation of our knowledge about it.

Respondents were very much busy so they were not interested to answers the questions attentively.

Our skill is not sufficient that’s reason we cannot present it more attractive.

Literature Review

Limited company

A limited company is a company in which the liability of the members or subscribers of the company is limited to what they have invested or guaranteed to the company. Limited companies may be limited by shares or by guarantee. And the former of these, a limited company limited by shares, may be further divided into public companies and private companies. Who may become a member of a private limited company is restricted by law and by the company's rules. In contrast anyone may buy shares in a public limited company.

In company act 1994 –Sec.2 (1.c) it is said that, “Company means a company formed and registered under this act or any existing company”

Limited company is in two kinds: Company limited by guarantee

Company limited by share

Company limited by shares is also in two kinds:1. Private limited company2. Public limited company

Private limited company

A type of company that offers limited liability to its shareholders but that places certain restrictions on its ownership. These restrictions are spelled out in the company’s articles of association or by laws and are meant to prevent any hostile takeover attempt. The number of members of this type of company is minimum 2 and maximum 50 (excluding the persons in its employment). Its minimum number of directors is 2 (two).

The major ownership restrictions are:

(1) Shareholders cannot sell or transfer their shares without offering them first to

the other shareholders for purchase,

(2) Shareholders cannot offer their shares or debentures to the general public over

a stock exchange,

(3) The number of shareholders cannot exceed a fixed figure (commonly 50).

Public limited company

Incorporated, limited liability firm are those, whose securities are traded on a stock exchange and can be bought and sold by anyone. Public companies are strictly regulated, and are required by law to publish their complete and true financial position so that investors can determine the true worth of its stock (shares). Also called publicly held company. Its minimum number of members is 7 and the maximum number is unlimited. The minimum number of Directors is 3 (three).

All these two companies are regulated by : Companies Act, 1994 (Amendment of Companies Act 1913)

The company named, Great Wall Ceramic Industries Ltd. is one of the largest Tiles manufacturer in Bangladesh. The company was established in 2006 and started the commercial production in the same year. Great Wall Ceramic Industries Ltd. is a fully local invested company thinks constantly to do the best in products and services. The company is always trying to increase the value of its product and minimizes the cost of product and distributes it to their all stakeholders as early as possible to make a win-win situation.

The company is always putting endeavor to achieve the cutting edge of its products and services with the new thoughts and advanced approach to meet the client’s desire. Our ultimate goal lies with serving our clients with the best products along with the services. At the end as a local company we also look forward for the superior support from our honorable clients so that, the company would be able to contribute to national development.

Analysis of data

Great Wall Ceramic Industries Ltd. is one of the largest tiles manufacturer companies of Bangladesh. It is a private limited company. All the shares of the company are retained by two directors. Ceramics tiles such as- floor, wall, stairs, decoration are the products of this company. Mostly Construction firms are the targeted customers of its products. All of its products are manufactured in its factory which is situated in - Gilarchala, Sreepur, Gazipur. All the raw materials are collected from home and abroad. From India, China, Italy raw materials are imported. All the production technologies are imported from China and Italy. Automated production process is used in times of manufacture. The company has two delivery van of its own.

In this company about 70 people work in administration sector, 20 people work in sales sector and 400 people work in production sector. The total working capital of this company is - 6, 00, 00,000 taka and the fixed capital is - 15, 00, 00,000 taka (written down value on 31st December’10). Raw materials collection is about – 85 core taka

The market share of the products of this company is 13% of the total market. RAK CERAMIC is its main competitor which has owned the 24% of the total market

Great Wall Ceramic Ltd. believes that they are the best in the market because of the quality of their products. The total sale of this company is – 135 cores (for the ended 31st December ’10). Net profit ratio (% of sales) is 20% (approximately).

The authority of the company said that they face some problems with the govt. rules and restriction, such as:

I. Supplementary duty imposed on their finished productII. Restriction on new connection of gas for their expansion unit.

Strategies

Great Wall Ceramic Industries Ltd. tries to follow some strategy to build a good will in the market. The strategies it follows are: -

Marketing strategies:

Sales through dealer Product reached to the dealers destination by company’s own arrangement Always prefer B 2 C marketing Try to touch all types of customer, tiles users and consulting firms Carefully handling any types of complains and feed back within 48 hours Some times acting as dealer’s representative Close monitoring the market and result some time new product launching

The company has some future plans to take the lead of the market. The administration of the company has decided to take these steps in the near future :-

Conclusion and recommendation

Conclusion

As Great Wall Ceramic Industries Ltd. is one of the best and famous tiles

manufacturers of the country, it should be more careful about its quality. The

concept of their business that, the market is our centre, new design is our guide

and good service is our aim, is very much appreciative.

Recommendation

The company should take a good look in its advertisement sector and ensure that

customers are getting the right product at right time.
