As businesses get more globalised, digitalised, uncertain, and fast-changing, companies
need to quickly adapt and bring products to market. Project managers can make that
happen. Therefore, Project Management is a critical function and role.

In the coming years, the world will see more projects than ever. PMI says that, by 2027, the
world will need 88 million people in project-related roles (girlsguidetopm.com). However,
significant trends might put project management professionals’ careers at stake and thus they
must consider these as an urgent call for a change in their practices, and upskilling in
much-needed competencies.

DISRUPTIVE TRENDS IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Programme Overview
Regardless of industry size, project-driven or not, companies (core as well as ITES) can
leverage project management capability into a competitive advantage by completing work on
time and on budget in an environment which reinforces alignment with organizational
strategy. In the past, many projects failed due to limited knowledge of project management by
the team leaders and managers. The non – repetitive, irreversible nature of these activities
and huge capital investments makes the knowledge of scientific and advanced skills
mandatory for proper management of projects. The challenges have only further been
enhanced due to digital technologies as well as COVID 19 pandemic. For example,
understanding software project management is a key success factor along with technical
skills for the IT architects. This programme is designed to impart necessary skills in managing
large projects in different domains ranging from construction to IT in the era of new normal
with prominent role of emerging digital technologies and associated digital transformation
