KindergartenEnrolmentsfor2020WearecurrentlytakingenrolmentsforchildrenstartingKindergartenin2020.Ifyouhaveachildstartingschoolnextyearorknowofchildreninourlocalareathatarestartingschoolpleasecontacttheschoolorcallourofficeon95805074tobegintheenrolmentprocess.OurKindergartenOrientationdatesthisyearareMonday23September,Monday28OctoberandMonday4November.Childrenmustbeenrolledtoattendorientationsessions.WearelookingforwardtomeetingthenewKindergartenstudents.
KindergartenOrientationParentInformationSessionThenewKindergartenstudentswillbecomingtovisitusfortheirsecondorientationsessiononMonday23September.Therewillbeimportantschoolinformationprovidedfortheparents.PleaseNote:Pleasehelpuswelcomethesenewstudentsandparents,bydroppingyourchildtoschoolonthesemorningsandthenleavingthepremises.Thiswillhelptokeepthecarparkfreeforparking,sothatnewKindergartenparentsmaybringtheirchildrenintotheschoolandhelpthemtosettlequickly.

PerformingArtsShowcaseLastnightover300parentsandfriendsexperiencedour2019PerformingArtsShowcase.Thankstothededicationofmanystaff, students were given opportunities to shine. The choirs, the dance groups, the bands, two amazing humorouspresentationsfromtheSeniorandJuniorDramagroupsabouttheimpactoftheAustralian‘GoldRush’onoursocietyandthelegendbehind‘Scissors,Paper,Rock’andaspecialfinalewerehighlightsofawonderfulnight.Thankyoutoallthestudentswhoperformed,theparentsandcaregiversthatsupportedtheeveningandthemanyteachersthatinvestedsomuchtimeintomakingtheeventsuchamemorableone.SpecialmentionshouldbemadeofTracey,ShadiandLuke,ouroutstandingcomperes,whoconductedtheevening’seventssoprofessionally.ThankyoualsotoTariqandLucaswhoperformedthechallengingrolesof light/soundtechniciansadmirablywiththesupportofMrsMorris.Thankyoualsoto thestaff thatattendedonthenighthelpingasushers,personalassistants, supervisorsandsupporters.AspecialthankyoutoourPerformingArtsteamfortheirhardworkanddedication.
DanceFeverMultisportOurDanceFeverMultisportProgramwillcontinueinTerm4withallstudentsparticipatinginaGymnasticsProgramrunbyDanceFeverMultisport.Studentswilldevelopgymnasticsskillsincludingspringandlanding,rotation,locomotion,balance,acrobaticsandcircusskills.Studentswillnotonlylearngymnasticsskills,buttheywillimprovetheircoordination,flexibility,agilityandstrength.TheprogramisalignedwiththePDHPEcurriculumandthestudentswillbeassessedaccordingly.
StudentsareremindedtoweartheirsportuniformontheirallocateddaybeginninginWeek1Term4. SchoolResumesforTerm4ThefinaldayforTerm3isFridaySeptember27.SchoolresumesforallstudentsforTerm4onMondayOctober14.
GoldAssemblyTheGoldAssemblywasheldonMondaySeptember24.Itcommencedat2pmwiththeHarmonyandMelodyChoirssingingbeautifullyundertheguidanceofMissWhittingham.Alargenumberofparentsandfriendsoftheschoolattended,appreciatingthedelightfulperformance.CongratulationstoallstudentswhoreceivedGoldAwardsandSchoolMedals.TheSRCdidafinejobleadingtheassemblyundertheguidanceofMrsMoranandMrsFernandez.Itwasawonderfulcelebrationoftheachievementsofourchildren.

InGeography,wehavebeenlearningaboutourimpactonoursurroundingsandhowwecan‘PayBack’theenvironment.5/6MhaveawonderfulinitiativeofnowasteTuesdayswherestudentsbringazero-wastelunchbox.Theyaremakingastatementagainsttheusageofpackagingthatgoestolandfillanddoesnotdecomposesuchasplasticwrappersandsandwichbags.Additionally,theEcoWarriorshavebeencollecting10cdrinkcontainersduringlunchtimeandtheproceedswillcontributetotheYear6Farewell.
BHPSWalkathon2019TheWalkathonhasbeenrescheduled!Itwillbeheldat9.30amonWednesday16October(Term4,Week1)atBeverlyHillsPS.Childrenareencouragedtokeepbringingintheirdonations.TheP&C,staffandstudentsarealllookingforwardtothisfunevent!Itisawonderfulopportunitytoraisefundsforourschool.Thisyear,theP&Carehopingtoraisefundsforfuture-focusedlearningresources,passiveplayequipmentandelectronicsignage.Ourfocusistosupportourschoolandstudents,aswellasencouragingahealthylifestyle!Thankyouinadvanceforyoursupportandanycontributions.Anydonation,nomatterhowsmall,isappreciated.AllproceedswillgodirectlybackintoourschoolcommunityandwillsignificantlyhelpBHPSprogressinoureducationaljourney.
