ATFM-CDM Notes
METCDM Notes:
[1] 1900-0159: A low pressure system is driving SSW to SE winds over the TMA. Cloud 1000-2000ft possible until 23Z so x-factor applied. Showers are possible over the ocean and to the north
during the morning. Fog patches possible in the western TMA with a slight chance of fog occuring at the aerodrome.
[2] 0200-1159: An upper trough to the west is destabilising conditions over the land. Showers and thunderstorms are possible over land within the TMA. If thunderstorms do form they are likely to
be slow moving due to weak steering. Shower and thunderstorm activity will contract further west and ease (positive x-factor applied) but could increase in the northern TMA and over the ocean in
the evening as the trough offshore moves southwards.

MELBOURNE - Nil GDP Monday 28 March 2022 ATFM-CDM Notes
METCDM Notes:
[1] 1900-0859: Winds will be northerly in the morning ahead of a trough transition which will turn the winds S'ly around the middle of the day. N to NNW winds aloft could reach 20 to 30 knots until 23Z so RWY 34
chosen until winds weaken. Turbulence possible in the northern TMA until 23Z. S'ly wind change could occur as early as 01Z so PRLAHSO proposed. Slight chance of a shower or two with the change between 01-
05Z but these are more likely in the northern TMA after the change goes through the aerodrome. There is also the chance of thunderstorms to the north on the ranges between 04-07Z.
[2] 0900-1259: Cloud 1200-1800ft developing over the Melbourne Basin area, x-factor for uncertainty in timing of IMCB. Chance of winds tending SE'ly for periods favouring RWY 09/16.

METCDM Notes:
.
[2] 0400-1259: As the convergence line moves inland during the afternoon there is an increased risk of heavy showers and thunderstorms at the aerodrome. With weak steering and the
convergence line staying over the aerodrome for the rest of the afternoon, heavy showers and thunderstorms could be last for up to an hour or more at a times. X-factor added to reflect most
likely times to see heavy showers and thunderstorms but they are possible during the entire afternoon and evening. There is increased uncertainty between model guidance for thunderstorms
within the TMA.

PERTH
METCDM Notes:
[1] 2200-0459: A mid level trough extending from Ex-Tropcal Cyclone Charlotte is triggering thunderstorms in the morning over the TMA. There is a chance of thunderstorms tracking over the
aerodrome from the east to the west until mid-morning. There is some uncertainty with the placement of this trough so no thunderstorms is also a possibility. An increased easterly pressure
gradient over the TMA will see winds aloft reaching 30 to 40 knots with turbulence and wind shear.
[2] 0500-1359: There is the chance of thunderstorms in nothern parts of the TMA until 11Z. E'ly winds aloft could reach 25 to 35 knots in the evening from 10Z or 11Z with the chance of turbulence
so x-factor applied.
