Atharva Sapte Cover Letter - 150317 Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to apply for a number of roles advertised on the careers page of your website. As you can see from my attached CV, I have been successful at MarchantCain Design and am now looking to build on these achievements in a new environment and prove my skills with new challenges. I am a highly analytical, intuitive and IT literate professional. At university, I have successfully completed modules on Creativity, Life Skills and Inter-Cultural Communications, that give me several practical skills in terms of time & task management, productivity and a global understanding of professional practice. I have been able to develop these skills while working for a global Automotive OEM (1 year) and in an international Tier 1 supplier SME (3.5 years). The OEM experience taught me how to co-ordinate tasks with various departments, and the SME taught me to successfully undertake and manage several tasks on any given day and more often than not, on short notice. These different exposures have provided me with a rounded understanding of the industry and taught me flexibility to perform my duties independently, in a team as well as in collaboration with clients and/or supplier. By participating in the establishment of Quality Management Systems, I have also developed a pedantic attention to detail and a desire for perfection. In 2012 I was involved in a product development program for a component on the Porsche 918. In the absence of an experienced project manager, I had undertaken the tasks of sourcing parts, supplier selection, managing quality assurance from the suppliers, assembly process control, test procedure and packaging, in addition to my design and developments tasks. For this project, I was able to deliver 8 prototype parts within 2 months of the contract agreement from the customer. Following that project, in addition to usual duties, I have also supported the creation of forms, policies and procedures that are necessary for the implementation of the ISO 9001 quality management system. Furthermore, I have participated in the audits, with the accrediting institutions as well as customers to explain any processes and systems implemented. In daily tasks, I act as the quality manager, and am responsible for the inspection of returned parts from customers and the subsequent non-conformance reports for internal use as well as the 8D reports submitted to the customer. I have also had experience in training apprentices as well as line operatives, which has taught me patience, empathy, the ability to recognise an individual’s strengths and weaknesses, and delegate tasks accordingly. Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for a number of roles advertised on the careers page of your website.

I am always coming up with innovative ideas for component designs or systems and always looking out for new technologies to incorporate in current design. In 2014, I have invented two patent pending technologies for an active aerodynamic actuator and cable compensation device. I believe my strongest attributes are product design, development and delivery as well as analysis of components and mechatronic systems involving mechanical kinematics, with the use of CAD, FEA and Simulation software. During my career as a Design and Project Engineer at MarchantCain Design, I have had the opportunity to sharpen those skills on various projects as reflected by my CV.

I believe my skills and ambitions are a match for the exciting opportunities that are advertised on your websites and any challenges that may come with it. I also feel ready to move to the next step of my career and am learning about Project Management, with the goal of being best prepared when the opportunity for such a role arises. I am confident that I possess the attributes you are looking for and that my experience to date, ability to learn and pragmatic approach to problem-solving would prove valuable to a technology and excellence driven corporation. I would very much welcome the opportunity to meet you and to discuss my application further.

Yours sincerely,

Atharva Sapte [I am widely known by my nick-name, Archer]
