‘The Choices Are Endless’ ReNew Kitchen & Bath is the place to go to fix outdated floors, bathrooms, and kitchens on a budget. Satisfied clients John Dietrich and Ann Buth love their beautifully updated bathrooms. J ohn Dietrich and Ann Buth love Ocala, having called Marion Landing home for almost a year. They found their current house, which is just down the street from a longtime friend, online and got a great deal on the fixer-upper. “But the house was a disaster,” John says. “It reeked of smoke.” The couple worked for nearly a month getting everything repaired, painted, and re- placed. His background as a painting contractor certainly came in handy during the process of tearing down the entryway divider, replacing the worn carpet, and making minor repairs through- out the otherwise charming home. The one thing they couldn’t tackle, however, was dealing with the outdated bathrooms. “The house has all-original cabinetry,” Ann comments. “Because it was once a model home, they’re well-made and in good shape, so we knew we wanted to leave them.” After calling a couple of companies who didn’t impress them with their cookie-cutter approach, John and Ann decided to call Jim LaValle with ReNew after seeing one of their ads in a local directory. He didn’t disappoint. “We called him and he came out right away,” she says. “He has marvelous connec- tions and excellent subcontractors. They’re very punctual and Jim’s scheduling is great. The choices are endless.” John ultimately liked that Jim and Ann had a good rapport together and that Jim was honest, never used any high-pressure tactics, and com- municated well throughout the whole process, especially during a slight issue with the plumbing. “I called Jim about it,” he says, “and within the hour, the plumber had called me back and scheduled to get everything fixed right away.”

That’s exactly how ReNew likes to get the job done.

“I’ve organized a good team over the years and I don’t accept anything less than the best. They do excellent work,” Jim says. “The key is communication. You have to respond right away.”

John and Ann loved the way Jim communicated with them throughout the process, but they really love the finished product. Ann estimates they probably saved $4,000 between the two bathrooms.

In the guest bathroom, ReNew kept the cabinets and their color, added a new shower and tile, and extended the shelf over the toilet to create more usable space in a small area. The master bathroom, however, was a little more challenging.

“There was wallpaper everywhere,” Ann says. “It was really dated, so we wanted to update the walls, the floors, and the countertops.”

The corner shower is now all glass, with no drywall dividers, and uses the space more efficiently. They’re very happy with how Jim and his crew handled the job.

They contacted two other compa-nies, but are very glad they chose ReNew. One company was going to install a prefab “shell” to go over the existing shower. “My buddy had that done,” John says, “but for what he paid, we got a custom bathroom.” Another company offered a one-size-fits-

all approach.“The other company wanted to get

rid of everything in the bathrooms, but we liked the cabinets—and there was noth-

ing wrong with them,” John says. “They wouldn’t even come to the house; they wanted us to go to their showroom to pick out everything.”

In contrast, Jim came to their house to measure and go over all details of the project. Once everything was agreed upon, the couple met him for tile selec-tions, and final design ideas.

“I really listen to each customer,” Jim explains. “You have to have that vision of what the final product is going to look like—and the product knowledge to get the job done.” •
