3 Transport Details

Urea is trucked in from off site by an external contractor and placed into the urea store. The urea is loaded into a hopper by a front loader within the urea store. All handling of urea is then via a sealed automated charging system.

Melamine is brought on site in I T and OST FlBCs as well as 25kg sacks. This is stored in the warehous8. These hags are brought to the loading ama at the back of the resin building and transported to the top resin floor by a holst. The bags am then discharged into a chute manually. At the time of writing an automated system fed by bulk ddimries is being installed and should be operational within one month which wiH m o v e the need for manual handling.

Methanol is transported entirely via continuously welded pipelines.

Oowtherm heal transfer oil is brought to the site in 2001 drums and filled Into the amlatory system of the Formox process and will be topped up on shutdown once a year (or slightly less). During the msl of the year it would not normally be handled. Excess Dowtherm is stored in the warehouse as it solidifies (reversibly) when exposed to cold.

Diethylene glycol is brought on site in tankers and transferred to a storage tank. All subsequent handling is via pipelines.

Ammonium sulphate is broughl on site in solution and transferred to a storage tank, All subsequent handling is via pipelines.

Caustic soda is brought on site in tankers and transferred to B storage tank. All subsequent handling is via pipelines.

All other chemicals such as boiler transport chemicals etc are bmught around the site using a forlrliff.

Storage Details

The location and storage of all process chemicals and pmduds is detailed In the following pages. Further information on storage c o n d i is available in Attachment D.

A detailed gap analysis of current bunding and current pipeline and vessel specifications is being carried out by IPOC Ud. in conjundion with GEL International Ud. at the time of writing and will be made available when it is completed.

All storage tanks are currently on a 5 year nondestrudive testing schedule. All hazardous pipelines are pressurn tested on an annual basis.

The only location with mixed dremicals is managed according to an incompatible chemicals list which is controlled by the HSE optimr. Only weak acids, weak oxidising agents and weak solutions of sodium hypochlorite p m n t any issue in this area.

Pipeline Specification The standards to which the pipelines are constnrded are to ASME B31.3. The requirement for piping according to ASME B 31.3 is detailed in Appendix 24. Pipelines are painted to prevent corrosion and are inspected regulariy.
