http://www.msnt.org.my Attachment with ANSCO, Korea for NDT in Nuclear Power Plant Inspection As a part of efforts taken by Nuclear Malaysia in dealing with the possibility of Malaysia going into Nuclear Power, a senior scientist Dr Abd Nassir Ibrahim who is also the President of the Malaysian Society for NDT (MSNT) has been dispatched to Korea under the Malaysian Human Capital Development (HCD) Program. The visit that took place between 9th to 29th October 2010 was specifically tailored for MSNT President to acquire as much information as possible in areas related to NDT and its role in the implementation of Nuclear Power Program. Visitor with Dr. Jong Po Lee, President of ANSCO, one of companies specialized in inspection of nuclear power plant components in Korea. Having the necessary information, it is expected then that the President will help relevant parties to plan a strategy for the involvement of this technology right from the planning to operational stages of nuclear power plants in Malaysia. In this program, the host organization ANSCO has made arrangements for MSNT President to visit organizations considered as NDT main players in Korea such as KAERI, KEPRI, KRSS, Doosan and a number of universities. As a part of Japanese initiatives to help members of NDT communities in the region, the Japanese Society for Non-destructive Inspection (JSNDI) has organized a special meeting from 23rd to 25th November 2010 Meeting Between JSNDI and Asian NDT Societies, Tokyo, 23-25 November 2010 special meeting from 23rd to 25th November 2010, where representatives from selected Asian countries were invited. The meeting that took place at the JSNDI Headquarter at Akihabara was officiated by the JSNDI President, Prof. Yokono and attended by a number of JSNDI officials and representatives of NDT Societies from Malaysia India China Korea and Singapore 1 from Malaysia, India, China, Korea and Singapore. MSNT was represented by the President, Dr. Abd. Nassir Ibrahim. A number of activities expected to provide impacts to the development of NDT in this region have been identified during this meeting and will be implemented in 2011. Meeting participants took a break to visit an exhibition on NDT Instrumentation in an exhibition Centre in Tokyo.

NTC on Digital Industrial Radiography, 8-12 November 2010The first ever National Training Course (NTC) onDigital Industrial Radiography (DIR) wassuccessfully held in Malaysian Nuclear Agency on 8-

12 November 2010. The course was designed toaccommodate the needs of industries andresearchers, to promote, utilize and establish DIRapplication in Malaysia. The course was attended by14 peoples and conducted by two experts, namely Dr.Uwe Zscherpel of Bundesanstalt fürMaterialforschung und –prüfung (BAM, Berlin) andMr. Khairul Anuar Mohd Salleh of DIR Laboratory,Malaysian Nuclear Agency. This course marks asignificant step to the development of industrialradiography in Malaysia.
