Sad News Mrs. Harrop will be leaving
Manor Green at the end of this
coming term. Whilst this is sad
news for us, it is exciting news
for Mrs. Harrop as she prepares
to embark on the next exciting
stage of her career. We’re sure
you’ll join us in thanking
Mrs. Harrop for everything she’s
done for us at Manor Green
and wish her all the very best.
Text/App Updates We have been in
contact with
Teachers2Parents
who provide our text
update service. They
have assured us that
the next update of
their app will solve
the ‘dead links’
problem.
In the meantime, you
can delete the app
and the texts will
resume as normal.
When waiting in the foyer,
please do not open the main door
for other visitors – even if you know
them. Thank you for helping to
keep our children safe.
Community News – Litter Pick Tomorrow!
@MGYear3Yellow Recently, 3Y all became chefs
as part of their new theme –
Fairtrade. They learnt how to
make banana and chocolate
muffins using Fairtrade
ingredients. They all had such a
fun time and we hear they
tasted delicious too!
Fantastic Footballers! Huge well done
to our football
team who took
part in a football
tournament and
won!
We’re sure that
you’re all as
proud of our
amazing team
as we are! Well
done, girls!
@MrsOConnor3G After hearing about their
amazing muffins, Mrs. Clegg
asked Y3 to write their recipes
down for her so that she could
make her very own batch. After
some extensive baking and
tasting, Mrs. Clegg confirmed
that they were the best muffins
she’s ever made!
#MakingTheDifference
Litter in the Community – Bin it! As you know from previous newsletters and, no doubt,
from reading concerns online, litter is often raised as a
concern by parents, carers and community members.
Please see the image below to see how you can
make a difference to our community.
Our Core Values at Manor Green This week, children have been completing work around the ‘Care, Share, Fair, Dare’ values that we have at
Manor Green and as part of the Focus-Trust family of academies. These values form part of everything we do
on a day to day basis here at Manor Green. As the year continues, and going further forward, we will
continue to raise the profile of these core values. At Manor Green, we care, we share, we are fair, we dare
and we are healthy and happy.
Look out next week for a special edition of the ‘Manor Green Weekly’ celebrating our core
values of ‘Care, Share, Fair, Dare’ and find out more about what we’ve done to help
embed them across our academy this week.
We’ll also include photographs of how everyone ‘dared to be them’ yesterday on #DareToBeDifferentDay.
@MissBorrell5Y Luka from 5 Yellow took on the
challenge of making a 3D model to
show his class how night and day
works. However, he used his Lego
building skills to create his model in
cube form! Excellent work, Luka!
@MissFenna1G 1G loved using 2D & 3D shapes to
make rockets! 3, 2, 1… blast off!

@MrsOConnor3G As an introduction to
statistics, 3G made a
human pictogram using
smiley faces to represent
their information.
Fantastic practical
maths, 3G!
Uniform Reminder
We’re proud of being from
Manor Green and want to make
sure our uniform reflects this. We
would like to take this
opportunity to remind you about
uniform at Manor Green.
We appreciate that the majority
of you ensure that children
come to school daily wearing
the appropriate uniform – thank
you very much for this.
Please find clarification about
Manor Green uniform below:
Uniform is a bottle green jumper
or cardigan with a yellow polo
shirt and black or grey school
trousers, pinafore or slip.
Children should not wear boots
or trainers for school. We
appreciate that the weather is
unpredictable so children are
welcome to walk to school in
their boots or trainers but they
must change in to shoes when
they get here. Where there are
times where your child needs to
wear trainers, please send a
note to explain.
Children should not wear nail
varnish or false nails. We do not
feel it is appropriate for primary
school aged children to wear
false nails due to health and
safety reasons.
Where children’s ears are
pierced, they should only wear
studs. Children should not wear
hooped or low hanging earrings
as these present a major health
and safety concern. Children
with hooped earrings will be
asked to remove them.
Any hair that is long enough to
be tied back, should be tied
back with a small bobble or
headband – preferably in green,
yellow or black.
Thank you for your continued
help and support.
