Feedback!

• To get feedback I created a survey. I asked people to fill it in and tell me what they thought of the video.

• These are the results I Got!

What did you like about the Music Video? Some of the responses I got were:

From this feedback I learnt that it is good to add your own touch to the genre and not completely stick to the codes and conventions. In my genre I used special effects which do not follow them. However from my feedback I can see a lot of my audience enjoyed the special effects used in the video. I also learnt that the numerous camera shots I used helped make the video look good and kept it interesting. I had a choice of whether to make my video in colour or black and white. From looking at this feedback I believe that I made the right choice and that it was effective.

• From this feedback I have learnt. The Music VideoThat the quality of filming is a big issue and before filming that we should of practised a lot more than we did as

when it came to the shooting although we thought that we were filming alright some of the clips turned out a bit shaky. This was obviously noticeable to the audience from the feedback I received. If I was to do another music video. I would practice over and over again before shooting the music video. I would also re shoot the products more times to get more clips that are of better quality and so that even if some are shaky there are many that aren’t that could be used.

I also learnt that placing pictures into a music video is not a great idea. On audience member felt it was ‘Tacky’, others said they felt it ‘should of been presented better’ and some said it ‘didn’t flow well’. This taught me that the planning stages of the music video are extremely important. If we had planned better we could of thought of a better well to show the artist getting older.

Some of the comments said that the Video had too much black and white. This has showed me that i should of added a bit of colour maybe consistently to the picture . Even though I think it was right to had the video in black and white and I think so did my audience to make the video more appealing to the eye there should be a bit of colour in the video.

Magazine AdvertFrom audience feedback I learnt I could of made the background of the magazine advert more interesting,

which would in turn attract people to it more.

From the feedback I received I have learnt that the video reflects the genre it’s meant to be

3 people only ranked a 2 on lighting this is an indicator that the lighting could of been thought about more, in aspects of shadows and some places being to dark.

The majority thought 21 -25, 31 -35 and 36 – 40. From my primary market research I learnt that my target audience is 21 -25 and 50+. Becuase this is such a wide range. I decided to aim for people of ages 21 -25. From my feedback I can see I have done this. However a lot of responses said 31 – 40.

A lot of people can not see a clear narrative. This has also taught me that planning is crucial. By planning the treatment better and thinking of how to show a narrative using theories the audience would be more likely to see a clear narrative.
