I created a questionnaire and asked 10 people within my target audience to fill it in. I have collated my results and drawn together some conclusions from my feedback…
I asked this question to gain knowledge of whether my front cover alone would appeal to my target audience if they saw it in a shop.
8 out of 10 people said yes and this tells me that on first glances my magazine front cover is appealing.

I asked this question to learn what features are the most effective for attracting people to the magazine.
I have learnt that the colours on the front cover of my magazine work well as 6 people chosen colours as the main thing that attracts them to the cover. 6 people also chosen style as the thing that attracted them however, 0 people said it was the fonts that appealed to them.

I used this question to find out why the front cover page was appealing.
It being colourful was said by 6 people which shows my choice of colours was successful and also the cool style appealed to my audience.
4 people said that my magazine cover was cluttered and this could be an element that makes them dislike my front cover and overlook it if it was on the shelf in a shop among other magazines.

10 out of 10 people said the variety of images on the contents page make it more appealing and so this shows that having a good variety of images was important for my contents page.

I asked this question to see if the bands I have included would be who my target audience want to read about.
4 people said they would want to read about the Stone Roses, Jake Bugg and the Arctic Monkeys.
Less popular bands were The 1975, Bastille, The Strokes and Tribes.

Through asking this question I have learnt what is good and what is bad about my contents page.
8 people answered that it was interesting and organised and this is something that was good about my contents page however 2 people said it looked busy and this might be something that doesn’t appeal to the audience.

Only two answers from this question were chosen; main image and headline.
This tells me that these two features are the most important and stand out the most on the page.
It also suggests that I was successful in making my double page spread eye catching through using a large main image and headline as these were the only two answers chosen.

5 people said that the layout of my double page spread was ‘1 being very good’ and so this shows I was successful in creating a good layout for it.
However 2 people rated it 4/5 for the layout and this shows the layout didn’t appeal to everyone in my target audience.

I asked this question to gain knowledge on what things about my double page spread appealed to my audience by asking them to pick out three words that best describe it.
Cool was the most popular answer and this has positive connotations. No one chose cluttered as there answer and so this suggests the double page
spread was appealing they thought it was laid out well.

I asked this question to see who my target audience thought the magazine would sell to.
15-22 was the most popular age range and this shows I haven’t met my target audience of 16-25 and that it doesn’t appeal to the upper part of the target group.

My intention when creating a magazine was that it would be of a professional quality and sell in the shops and through 9 people answering yes this shows I was successful.
