Audience feedback had been an important aspect of pre- production, production as well as production process. Audience feedback had been used for all of three products that had been created- video, advert and the website. However, I believe audience feedback was the most important tool during pre-production process, as I was gathering ideas together. At the end of AS level, Vasily and I had created a small practice music video, which I have used to gather some feedback, especially negative mattered the most in order to seek how to improve whilst creating the real music video, for which I have used the track ‘Live your life’ by Erick Morillo. In the video, there had been a small dance routine, wide range of locations and a small plot- the question that I have asked was- by looking at the practice video, what aspects have you enjoyed watching and how can it be improved? My friends had come up with similar ideas, however, the most important aspects was the camera work- it was not stable enough. Furthermore, four people mentioned dance routine is not required however strong plot is certainly important in order for the video to stand out. Full of different of ideas, I was able to shot and edit the video as well as posting first draft online in order to gain some feedback. I have used Instagram, to show the link of my video, asking people to have a look and comment. The feedback given was very much the same, because some of the scenes were missing and it is difficult to analyse the plot without the full story. However, another aspect was to concentrate on the editing skills- as some of the scenes and shots were too long, cropping was required in order to show the full story. I have posted online, three or four drafts, even though I was gaining more ideas of what could be done, as each person had a different point of view- however I was not able to fulfil all of the requirement’s and went with the initial idea- of to an extend trying to ‘revolutionise’ video’s in House Music and break the stereotype. After posting the final draft, I have also asked couple of my friends to comment on the video. Most of them were very much surprised, because they were expecting an ordinary and stereotypical video that would include either of the two plots: relationship problems or male gaze. Aspects that the audience have enjoyed the most was the use of point of view, which increased interactivity and brought originality to the video. However, even though editing process had been finished, I was very curious whether the audience had enjoyed the video, or possibly not. I have become more and more

interested in filming process, and for the future references negative feedback is crucial, in order to make other videos more entertaining. Two or three students mentioned that the plot was difficult to follow, however, having to ask my friends from outside school- there were different results because they do not know the location, and the actors that were used in person. As I have filmed first part of the music video in school, which was supposed to represent the entrance to my flat- still, students ask, why are you going upstairs where the classrooms are? Furthermore, ending to the video should be changed, either by rejecting the phone call from my girlfriend or the headmaster.

For advert and the website, adjusting the changes from the audience feedback was much simpler. I have produced draft, printed them out, and asked whether the pages are interesting and eye-catching. I was asked to take into consideration the use of colour in the background image, however, I believe, that black and white worked well with red and black, which could be seen both at my advert and website page. Most of the girl had stated that more text is required on the advert, however, I have explained why free space is so important.

To conclude, to an extend, audience feedback helped the product to shape the way they are. What I have learned from the feedback, is that it is important to take into consideration all of the comments that had been mentioned. I was planning to fulfil all of the stages of Todorovs theory, however, due to lack of time and finance available for the equipment, some stages had been skipped out.
