The Internet Movie Database is an online database of information related to films, television programs, and video games, including actors, production crew personnel, and fictional characters featured in these three visual entertainment media.

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), originally British Board of Film Censors, is a non-governmental organisation, funded by the film industry and responsible for the national classification and censorship of films within the United Kingdom. It has a statutory requirement to classify videos, DVDs and some video games

This film category is more aimed for wider audiences as it allows all ages to watch the following film and scenes will be much more strict in this category such as the use of foul language in the film such as the F word or the B word a typical used words as they do not want children to inherit this type of language.

U rating this is the much more accepted age rating as it is acceptable for any viewer at any age, as these types of films will be movies such as animated cartoons and these will be movies such as the incredible as it is targeted for the younger audience and shows positivity in the film and good teachings to children.

PG standing for Parental Guidance, this is the age rating which is suitable for every age rating but ages below the age of 12 may need a parent to accompany them, although it will not have explicit content but may include bad words in the movie and may not be suitable for ages such as 8-9 etc.

These film rating is the much more older audiences hence the fact that they are in the red zoned colour.

12 and 12A this is the audience that film makers create allowing people that are 12 and above have the availability to watch the film as they are the suitable age for the following film. The 12A states the fact that the audience has to be atleasrt12 and accompanied by an adult to watch the film and no one under this age is available to watch the film, unless they are with a adult giving them permission to watch the film.

15 age classification is targeted for the 15 and above audience as film at this age rating will most likely contain strong languages, violence, sex and drugs etc. And no one below this age rating can watch the following film due to extreme scenes.

18 age classification is targeted for the much older audience and the higher age rating this is like the 15, it will contain the same but it will be much more extreme for example sex scenes will include sex but in the 18 category it will be included with much more nudes and explicit scenes with higher editing such as blood killing.

For this project I am researching various films which relate to the genre of Thriller and I have researched film ratings and how this can affect a film and how the audience view the actual film. Various websites such as IMDb has given me the availability to research about specific films and find out inside information about the film such as for example The Gangster Squad IMDb has provided information such as the box office, the actors in the film and age ratings etc. The SBBFC is a group of people that would put a certificate on a film or a video game allowing them to have the power to choose the appropriate audience for the film or game that the product is made.

Also from this research I have found ways that the film shows its products to the audience and how they would present it to the audience, also the thriller films that I have researched are quite popular and a hit with the audience since with the release as the rating and reviews from it is very good more over i have found out that most thriller films are mostly suitable for ages from 12 and above.
