Directions for Installing Soundopolis’ Impulse Library

Audio Ease Altiverb 7 Waves IR-1

Audio Ease Altiverb 7 1. Download and unzip the Impulse collection. 2. Locate the Altiverb folder “Third Party IR Libraries”.

a. On my Mac I found it here: Macintosh HD – Applications – Audio Ease – Altiverb 7 – Impulse Responses

3. Drop the folder, “Soundopolis_Impulse” into “Third Party IR Libraries” 4. Double Check –

a. Open a project in your preferred DAW. b. Add Altiverb to a track, and open the plug-in’s window. c. Click on the black box in the upper-left corner of the plugin.

d. In the new window that opens, click on “Third Party IR Libraries”.

e. Click on “Soundopolis Impulse”.

f. Next are subfolders of each type of IR.

g. Click on a subfolder to access a list.

h. The first one in the folder automatically loads. Click on another to load it. NOTE: if you load individual files using the “import ir” tab, these files should be used with the setting: “post-processing: use dropped audio without post processing”, which can be selected from the circled drop-down menu pictured below.

Waves IR-1 Unlike Altiverb 7, Waves IR-1 requires each file to be loaded individually. There doesn’t appear to be a quick way to import the collection as a whole, and have it appear in the “Load” menu. Below are instructions for new users who want to learn how to audition individual Soundopolis IR. 1. Download and unzip the Impulse collection. 2. Store the unzipped folder in an easy to find location. 3. Launch your preferred DAW. 4. Add Waves IR-1 to a track.

5. In the upper right corner of the plug-in, click on the “Load” button.

6. This opens up a drop-down menu, where you need to select “Import Impulse Response from File”.

7. When the load window opens, navigate to the location of the collection.

8. Enter the “Soundopolis_Impulse” folder, select which impulse response you want to audition, and click “Choose”.

9. Now you’re ready to go!
