Who is Audiovisual SGR?
� SGR is a financial institution created to support the Spanish audiovisual
industry in the process of financing audiovisual projects
� Focused on SMEs, which encounter considerable obstacles to obtain
adequate financing for their activities
� AUDIOVISUAL SGR (SGR) is a Mutual Guarantee Society (MGS)
founded in 2005 by the Spanish Ministry of Culture through the Institute
of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), the Audiovisual
Producers’ Collecting Society (EGEDA) and the Federation of Spanish
Audiovisual Producers (FAPAE)
� AUDIOVISUAL SGR has formalized guarantees for more than 175
million Euros in more than 690 projects.

� Protector Members: Participating with capital cannot apply for
a guarantee
o ICAA and EGEDA
o Other protector members: FAPAE, FECE,ADICINE, AITE
� Participating Members: Audiovisual SMEs which can apply
for guarantees. The applicant company should become member
of SGR (420 members)

Based on its experience, AUDIOVISUAL SGR was selected by
the European Commission to manage 50% of the MEDIA
Production Guarantee Fund (MPGF)
The MEDIA Production Guarantee Fund is a pilot experience
aim at facilitating the access to finance to audiovisual
producers (Cinema and TV)
The future Guarantee Facility is being built considering the
experience of the MPGF

Guarantee Facility - Objectives
� Support and facilitate the access to bank credits to
Producers
� Help strengthen the Industry and foster co-production
� Incentivize the Bank business by sharing the financial
risk related to the loans granted
� Encourage Aid schemes and co-investment with Public
Institutions

� WHAT?
� It is a guarantee mechanism to facilitate the access to finance by
reducing the risk of the bank when financing projects
� For cash-flowing projects (TV or theatrical release) against
“receivables” (contracts signed, grants, subsidies, etc.)
� The guarantee is limited to 50% of the related loan with a maximum
of EUR 1.2 million per company
� WHO?
� To independent European producers = Available to MEDIA
territories EU + EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) + Croatia +
Switzerland
