ITINERARY

12 AUG (MONDAY)

BEIRUT – MADRID Upon arrival to Madrid Airport, you’ll be met and transferred to the hotel for check In. In the afternoon, you’ll proceed on a Hop on Hop off half day city tour.

13 AUG (TUESDAY)

MADRID – AVILA (130km/1.3hrs) – SALAMANCA (120km/1hr) – PORTO (360km/3.45 hrs) After breakfast, you’ll visit the city of Avila with a short stop to discover this old town. Later, you’ll continue to Salamanca, this University City World Heritage of great architectural and artistic wealth. Later, you’ll depart for Porto, check in into your hotel & overnight in Porto.

14 AUG (WEDNESDAY)

PORTO After breakfast, you’ll proceed to a panoramic sightseeing tour of Porto. In the afternoon, you’ll have the possibility to take an optional visit to a famous winery with taste its world-famous "port wine".

15 AUG (THURSDAY)

PORTO – COIMBRA (130km/1.3hrs) – FATIMA (90km/1hr) After breakfast, you’ll depart to the city of Coimbra, one of the oldest universities in Europe and the birthplace of Fado music. During the day, you’ll have some free time before you proceed to Fatima, the center of the Christian Faith and a World Pilgrimage Sanctuary with its impressive Basilica and the Cova da Iria place where the Virgin Mary appeared. You’ll also visit The Chapel of the Apparitions, the heart of the sanctuary, housing the tombs of the three shepherds, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. In the afternoon, you’ll arrive to Fatima for overnight. At night, there’s a possibility to attend the procession of the candles.

16 AUG (FRIDAY)

FATIMA – BATALHA(25mn)–NAZARE(30mn)–ALCOBAÇA(20mn) – LISBON (125km/1.3mn) After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll be visiting the Batalha Monastery, a masterpiece of Gothic and Manueline style, considered a World Heritage place by UNESCO. Then you’ll proceed to the picturesque fishing town of Nazaré, have some free time and continue to Alcobaça (World Heritage) to visit the XII C. church and admire the tombs of Pedro and Inés de Castro and then to Lisbon. In the afternoon, you’ll arrive to your hotel in Lisbon for check in. There’s an optional night tour to attend a show of Fado, the typical Portuguese song and music.

17 AUG (SATURDAY)

LISBON Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, proceed on a sightseeing tour of the ancient Olissipo and drive through its main squares and avenues. The afternoon is free at leisure to catch the nostalgic corners of Alfama Quarter, the old city gathered next to its Castle, with old buildings nested in narrow twisting “Ruas” full of color housing the genuine “tabernas” as Fado beats, give life to a missing past.

LISBON- BEIRUT After breakfast, enjoy the morning free at leisure. In the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back to Beirut.
