Transfiguraon
We hear about the transfiguraon
of the Lord on August 6 and during
the Lent season each year. Why is
this so important? Jesus shows his
true self to Peter, James and John.
He is present with Moses and Elijah, two
important figures of the Old Testament. He is
declared by God himself to be the Son of God! We can
only image what a scene this must have been. How
might we have reacted? The transfiguraon is an
awesome tesmony for us of who Jesus is. When we
allow Jesus to be transfigured for us in our lives, in
persons we encounter each day, in our families, in our
friends and neighbors, even in our enemies, we can find
love and care for all of them. May we always see those
around us as the transfigured Lord among us and show
him our love.

September 10—International Food Festival 16—EMHC ReCommissioning NOTE DATE CHANGE: On the weekend of December 16 & 17, the parish will hold its first Annual Franciscan Nativity Festival. Basically, each family is asked to bring a nativity set to the church that weekend for display and blessing along with a brief note about the set (i.e. what it is made of, where it came from, history, etc.) There will be more details closer to the date. This is a wonderful way for parishioners to share Christmas traditions and beautiful nativity sets!

Virtue of the Week
Unity An understanding that we are all one in Christ and that what we do to one another affects the entire body.
So we, though many, are one body in Christ and
individually parts of one another. - Romans 12:5
Come, Lord Jesus, and make us one. May we contribute to
the unity of your holy Church by seeking peace, promoting
harmony and valuing every human life as precious and
unique. Amen.
