From The Director’s Chair I can’t believe how fast the summer is going by, State Fair is here, people are off to Sturgis and guess what’s coming fast? Christmas! Did I say that? Well it is…so let’s get going and make the most of our last rides we have…the burn camp ride, Colorama, Denise F. is working on the Children’s Hospital ride and we have the fish fry ride. All rides need participation! This is a great time to meet and ride with new people and I would like to thank all the participants of our events. FYI as the leader of this chapter I would like to clear up a few things, in order to be a chapter member you must be a HOG member. If you are a chapter member, your wife or significant other must be a HOG and chapter member as well. I have heard a little bit about interest in the chapter’s finances and the board decides all money decisions. The chapter subsidizes most events, but we do keep a reserve fund. Anyone who has a concern or would like more information, please see me. What does the acronym MOABR*stand for?

In the recent past, there have been two options forthe MOABR*. Either it was a ride that consumedmost of a day, or an overnighter. For the August 20th2006, the MOABR* will leave Hal’s at 9:00 A.M.sharp (clue 1). We will be using the first option, andriding for most of the day. It will be a ride even oneof our parents (clue 2) would love. We will go, atvarious times, North, South, Eastand West. There are 3 pokerstops involved in this ride. All of them are closelyassociated with a river. Thefirst stop is the largest and thelast is the least (clue 3). We willexperience flora, foreign lands andmovement between bodies of water (clue 4). Pleasejoin us for a full day of fun and riding!

The FIRST EVER…Do you know when the very first ever “Mother of

All Brunch Rides” took place? It was in August of1999. The following article is a recap of how it allbegan - Roxanne.

When Jonathan proposed the ride, the other RoadCaptains rolled their eyes. Dave Perszyk joked at themeeting that the next brunch ride might go to Sturgis.A 300-mile brunch ride is too long. The weatherforecast was for mid-90’s and humid. Most of mybuddies I usually ride with started making excuseswhy they couldn’t go. The ride would be too long andtoo hot. My wife decided to visit her parents that day.I had to go. I’m the Brunch Lord.

I was surprised to see over 100 riders at Hal’s.Over 120 ate brunch at Alpine Valley and most left onthe ride. Some dropped out after the first stop. Moreleft after stop No. 2. By stop No. 3, it was becoming

an endurance thing. Jodi was going around sprayingeveryone with ice water. Nobody objected.

At stop No. 4, I gave a little pep talk. “Are wegoing to finish?” A resounding, “Yes.” “Are wetough?” “Yes.” “Are we mice or men?” “Men!”

At the final stop, I made a little speechcongratulating everyone on surviving the ride. I toldthem that they were tough bikers. In April, we froze.Today, we boiled. We gave our Road Captains around of applause for leading us. Jonathan, Brad,John Z. and Scott C. Not one wrong turn and policehelp when we needed it.

Close to 50 bikers and 30 bikes finished- numberthat surprised me. We saw some beautiful scenery, and had a great time.

That night, I’m sure we all slept well knowing thatwe had completed the Mother of All Brunch Rides.

Hot Off The Press!“KMC Picnic, July 9th

Hits A Homerun!”At KMC’s annual picnic

Howie and Kirk weredeemed team captains andgot to choose sides! Kirk’steam with son Schuyler wasat bat. Schuyler hit a homerun and drove in 2 runs top ofthe first inning. The score isnow 3 to 0 in the bottom of

the first and Kirk’s son Wyatt leads off with an infieldhome run-WOW. Now the bases are loaded, Lance onHowie’s team hits a grand slam and waddles around thebases. Score 4-3. Next inning, Kirk hits a blooper tocenter field and gets to second base. He is limping a little(we think he hurt his knee) as his wife is yelling from thebleachers, “be careful.” Next up is Hal! He swings and amiss he swings and a miss he swings and a miss heswings and a miss he swings and a miss what an exitinggame end of the second inning! The score is now 10 to 9with Kirk’s team leading.

In the last inning Kirk’s team leads off and scores 2runs and the next 3 are out, bottom of the 3rd and Chuckgets up to the plate-swing and a miss! He hits the secondswing and it goes deep to the infield. What a hit for suchan old man! Chip is up to bat and he hits a high pop upand is out. As we end the bottom of the 3rd inning, allthe players are tired and worn out as Howie’s team beatsKirk’s team 12-10…yes you heard right, Howie’sbaseball team beats Kirk’s team in only 3 innings!

The food is now ready and Daniels Catering has the

steak and pork chop sandwiches ready, the corn on thecob is done and we eat with all the fixings. What a greatmeal all for 5 bucks and a dollar for kids. What a deal! After dinner it is time to get Howie with water balloonsand dunk Wyatt’s head in ice-cold water. What a greatday for all! For those who didn’t like water, there was asafe dry zone. -“Associated Press”

This just in from CBS: news flash…it appears that allof the information depicted in the review of the KMCpicnic may not be entirely true! Reliable sources have itthat the baseball team fielded by Kirk consisted of youngkids, girls and over the hill retired guys, while Howie’steam was packed with ringers and stacked with a line-upof overly competitive guys going through mid-life crisiswishing to relive the glory days of old. We can only hopetheir attention remains rooted in motorcycling and thatnone of these individuals find their way into the youthand recreation programs which thrive throughout the areawithout their atrophied talents.

HumongousThanks!

For all of you whohave given your timeto help run theMilwaukee Rally Hogpin stop THANKYOU! We couldn'thave done it without you. We always have so much funespecially meeting new people. Speaking of new people,THANKS Dwight for being a new member &volunteering! Now tell everyone how much fun you had!All you wonderful volunteers made this yet anothersuccessful event. Thanks again!
