Together with the Gromer family, who have been supplying our free range eggs since 2001, we’re on a journey to use only free range eggs in all our prepared foods. We’re not there yet, but we’re working on it. Already our bottled Woolies mayonnaise is made with free range eggs – it tastes so delicious and you have a wide range to choose from.

OUr FAirTrAde cOFFee All our house roast coffee beans are 100% Fairtrade certified and locally sourced from Africa. The Kilimanjaro Native Coffee Union, a small-scale farmers union from Moshi Town, Tanzania has been one of our primary suppliers for over 13 years.

Our partnership does not only benefit the environment, but also helps empower the local community by creating job opportunities and enterprise development. And of course, you get a delicious coffee to enjoy.

FArminG FOr The FUTUreOur produce farmers care for the environment while growing our fruit and vegetables. Take Flip Nel, for example. He’s been supplying Woolies with tomatoes, peppers and other fresh vegetables for years and he’s as passionate about sustainability as we are.

The secret to Flip’s success is his healthy soil, which he builds by adding compost and only using conventional chemicals if absolutely necessary. He’s seen for himself how farming this way improves soil and water quality, cuts water use, and brings birds and insects back to his farm.
