Keep your windows closed and the drapes drawn. This will help to keep out the humidity from the sun from penetrating into the home.Cook outdoors or use an electric skillet to avoid heating up the inside of the house.Be sure to change your furnace filter each month you use it. This can not only save you money on your bill but will prolong the life of your furnace!Use your washer, dryer

and dishwasher in the early morning or at night. They do heat up your home while in use.Take shorter warm show-ers or switch to cold showers this summer!Line dry your clothes if you can. If that’s not pos-sible, use your shower rod to dry your clothes.Use reversible ceiling fans. When it’s warm, set it to rotate counter-clockwise. When it’s cold, switch it to rotate clock-wise. I am a ChristianWhen I say that “I am a Christian,” I am not shouting that “I am clean living.” I’m whispering “I was lost, but now I’m found and forgiven.”When I say “I am a Christian,” I don’t speak of this with pride. I’m confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide. When I say “I am a Chris-tian,” I’m not trying to be strong. I’m professing that I’m weak and need His strength to carry on.When I say “I am a Chris-tian,” I’m not bragging of

success. I’m admitting l have failed and need God to clean my mess. When I say “I am a Chris-tian,” I’m not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are too visible, but God believes I am worth it.When I say “I am a Chris-tian,” I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say “I am a Christian,” I’m not ho-lier than thou. I’m just a simple sinner who re-ceived God’s good grace, somehow!

In the book of Jeremiah 1:4-5, God is speaking to Jeremiah. It says: 4. Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 5. Before I formed thee in the bel-ly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee.

So, God Himself is telling us, that before we came to this earth, our spirit beings were in Heaven with Him. He knew us, talked with us, gave mean-ing to our new life we were about to embark on. And then He formed us in our mothers’ womb. Which means, at the moment of conception, our spirits are infused into that new fetus. We have taken on flesh in this physical world. Now, as if that is not enough of a won-drous miracle, God then goes on to say, “and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee.” That means that every living fetus/baby is “made Holy” by God Himself... in the womb.

Another note of interest should be pointed out in The Gospel According to Luke. In Chapter 1, Gabriel, an angel of the Lord, appeared to Zacharias and tells him that even though he is an old man and that his wife (Elisabeth) is well beyond her child bearing years, that God will make it possible for her to become with child and that they should call him John. Now, six months after Elisa-beth is pregnant, Gabriel ap-pears in Nazareth to Mary and tells her that even though she is a virgin, God will cause the Holy Ghost to come upon her and that she will become with child and He shall be called the “Son of God”. Gabriel then goes on to tell Mary that her cousin Elisabeth, in her old age, has also conceived a son and that she is in her sixth month. So, Mary, newly pregnant with Je-

sus, travels to Juda to be with her cousin Elisabeth and be her “handmaid”. Now, I went to the trouble of telling you that story because the next part is im-portant. As Mary entered the house of Zacharias, and called out to Elisabeth, Verse 41 says, “And it came to pass, that when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb.” It goes on to say in Verse 44 that after they greeted each other, Elisabeth says, “For lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.” The babe in her womb, John, who would be-come John the Baptist, leaped with joy, because he knew the newly formed babe who was in Mary’s womb, Jesus, his cousin, “the Son of God”, the Light of the World. He knew Him in the womb because he had known Him in Heaven. At only six months in the womb, John, as with all babes, was aware of all that was around him and hap-pening to him.

Two short stories, easily read and easily understood. LIFE in the womb is PRECIOUS and HOLY and AWARE. There is an old saying, “What we do in this life, echoes through eter-nity.” I made the decision some time back not to get caught up in the madness the world was becoming and not to let that define how I spent my time here on this earth, nor my time in eternity. I’ve made it a point to seek out the truth in all matters that concern me. The words “LIFE in the womb is PRECIOUS and

HOLY and AWARE” ring true in my heart, my soul, ev-ery fiber of my being. Consider this: when they rip a baby out of the womb, what must God feel? Do you think He weeps? Throughout the ages man has

done all manner of evil. Evil that God is willing to forgive, but I don’t imagine any of that made Him weep. But this, I think this makes Him weep.

For those of you who support abortion and believe that there is nothing beyond this life, that when we die it’s just like some-one turning off your computer screen, and you’re right, then none of this really matters. But, if I’m right, you may find yourself standing in judgement before God to account for your time here. And when you see the ripple effect that abortion has throughout eternity, you may weep and cry out. God creates all life out of uncondi-tional love. But it is not with love that we tear babies from the mothers belly: life that God Himself has formed and sanctified to be Holy. Woe be it unto us, for I fear the shedding of innocent blood comes with a price. If that price is God lifting His hand of protection from this nation, woe be it unto us. It would not be the first time He has taken His hand off of a nation that has defied Him; history shows us that.

I close with this. “What ap-pears to be the ‘natural’ order of this life are but the thoughts and deeds of evil men mani-fested into our reality, whose goal it is to alter and destroy our divine plan and purpose that is locked away in our true spirit.” There are more of us than there are mad men. But, the sad truth is, most of us, we belong to the “silent majority.” The “outspoken minority” has been allowed in the last four decades, to alter and destroy our moral compass. We use to be able to say what we felt, as long as we were speaking the truth as we believed it to be. If another person or group did not agree with us, we were free

It amazes me when people don’t understand why their lives seem to revolve around ‘gloom, despair and agony on me’ when that is all they constantly spew out of their mouth.I mean do you even look at your own Facebook page? Post after post of negative stuff.Oh yeah, it’s supposed to be funny. And may-be one or two are. And maybe it’s a literal cry for help.If that’s the case, I’m here to help you. STOP.Yes. That’s my advice to you. Stop posting that crap. That’s the first step.Is this a 12-step pro-gram? I don’t know. Maybe? But you need to step away from the negativity.I’m not saying your life

is a bed of roses. Does that job suck? Maybe it does. But are you mak-ing it suck a whole lot worse by drawing atten-tion to the ‘suckiness’ of it? Undoubtedly. How much attention do you give to the good things going on in your life? I know there must be some.I know you have a girl-friend, boyfriend, wife, husband, dog, cat, baby - something that makes you smile somewhere during your miserable week. How about draw-ing more attention to THAT?I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I will say it again - What you FOCUS on is what DEVELOPS in your life. You want more negativ-ity? Good, focus on that. Your Facebook feed is filled with memes about how miserable your job is, how bad life sucks. Guess where this is go-ing? You got it. Go on. Get mad.No, I didn’t say it was easy.I’ve been where you are. I still am there some days. But being positive

is a DAILY choice. And it starts with think-ing differently. When you start to think differ-ently, you start to feel differently. If you think that be-cause your circum-stances are beyond your control you can’t have peace and hap-piness, I hope you realize that is yet an-other lie from Satan. Spiritual warfare starts in the mind.If Satan can get a hold of you there, he has won.Start thinking about what you are thinking about. The next time you recognize a nega-tive thought, stop and replace it with a posi-tive one or end it with a positive one.(This job sucks, but I’m going home to my lov-ing wife - or I’m thank-ful to have this full-time job even though it’s not the best position for me right now).Proverbs 4:23 tells us to carefully guard our thoughts (our heart) above all else, be-cause everything we do is shaped by our thoughts.

Sunny Skidmore at KLID radioAccording to Dr. Martin on KLID Radio

(8 to 11 a.m. Sunday Morning) Someone asked Dr. Martin, what one fruit will fight against can-cer? He said according to the Journal of Public Health, an apple a day will fight against these four cancers, Esophagus, Lungs, Stomach and Intestines.Dr. Wallach also on GCN network on KLID Radio has this helpful information:He has gotten through to the FDA to prove Omega 3 helps guard against strokes. Dr. Wallach also says Selenium helps guard against heart attacks, plus helps fight against cancer and Vitamin B 1 and other B cofactors helps fight against congestive heart failure.

APPLESMinerals such as calcium, potassium, and phosphorus risks and precautions. No serious side ef-fects are linked to apple consumption. Apple seeds contain cyanide, a powerful poison. Eating too many apple seeds can potentially be fatal. Apple seeds should not be consumed. In addition, because apples are fairly acidic, they could be up to four times more damaging to teeth than carbonated drinks, according to a study led by Professor David Bartlett at the King’s Dental Institute. Professor Bartlett said that “snacking on acidic foods throughout the day is the most dam-aging, whilst eating them at meal times is much safer. It’s not what you eat it’s how you eat it - an apple a day is good, but taking all day to eat the apple can damage teeth.” Most of the fiber and antioxidants are in the peel, says Dianne Hyson, Ph.D., R.D.6, a research dietitian at UC Davis in the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Hyson says “Despite public misperceptions, laboratories have consistently found very low levels - if any - of pesticide residues on the skin of apples.”

We have a separate bath and toilet, but there’s a hole in the wall between them, under the bath. Not long ago, we took in a kitten, and he developed this habit of wriggling through that hole and into the toilet! He’s still afraid of water in the sink or the bath, but the toilet is his fa-vorite place. Now he’s grown up and doesn’t fit in the hole any-more. So he goes to the kitchen, kicks over his wa-ter bowl, and plunges right into the spill.

CRYPTOGRAM ANSWERThere are more than twenty-four thousand species of butterflies, but moths are even more numerous.

There are about one hundred and forty thousand species of moths known to exist in the world. The only continent where no butterflies live is Antarctica.

I wouldn’t want to live there either.

Snacking Cookiesto debate it. Not now, though. Now they call it hate speech and will call you all manner of things and try to charge you with a crime. True-blooded Godly Americans, who know the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, free and subdued, had better wake up, speak up, step up, and find the courage to stand up and be heard. Neither the founding fathers nor God Himself, when they formed this country, had the vision that is now our reality.

We ought not to be taking issues we know to be wrong and evil and allow the “outspoken minority” to make up political correctness laws (that justify their evil) and then let them force those laws down our throats. In doing so, they change forever our lives and our country. Eternity will show our actions, or inactions, in these manners.

Jesus, speaking to His disciples in Luke 12:4-5, said this: 4. And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yeah, I say unto you, Fear him. Amen??? And you say, “Amen.”

2/3 cup butter, cubed1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar3/4 cup sugar3 large eggs, beaten1-1/2 cups chunky peanut butter

1 1/2 cups raisins6 cups old-fashioned oats2 teaspoons baking soda2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

In a large saucepan, melt butter. Stir in the brown sugar, sugar, eggs and peanut butter until smooth. Add oats, baking soda, raisins and choc-olate chips. Drop on a greased baking sheet about the size of a tennis ball. Flatten slightly. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Remove cookies. Cool on a wire rack.

Pineapple Angel Food Cake1 box of angel food cake mix

1 20 ounce can crushed pineapple, undrained

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, beat together the cake mix with the entire can of pineapple with juice and NOTHING ELSE. Pour into a lightly greased 9x13 pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until deep golden brown. I let mine cool for 45 minutes. The pineapple sinks to the bottom. If you cut it into 12 pieces (they would be quite large!), they would be 160 calories. I cut mine into 18 pieces - about 110 calories each. (I was not mak-ing this due to the low calorie count, I had no idea, but that’s a huge plus - let’s add some whipped cream!!)

By George CarlinGeorge Carlin’s wife died early in 2008 and George followed her, dying in July 2008. It is ironic George Carlin —comedi-an of the 70’s and 80’s— could write something so very eloquent and so very appropriate. An observation by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but short-er tempers, wider free-ways, but narrower view-points. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but en-joy less. We have bigger houses and smaller fami-lies, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more prob-lems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too sel-dom.We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life. We’ve added years to life not life to years. We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We’ve done larg-er things, but not better things. We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We’ve conquered the atom, but not our preju-dice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We’ve learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to pro-duce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small charac-ter, steep profits and shal-low relationships. These are the days of two in-comes but more divorce, fancier houses, but bro-ken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and

nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.Remember to spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around for-ever.Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn’t cost a cent.Remember, to say, ‘I love you’ to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind. And remember, life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by those moments that take our breath away.
