In addition to our District Performance and Posts for Club, Area, Division and District leaders, I have shared our District Goals set by WHQ for our 2013-2014 year. We are on target for a successful year, driven by your performance as a leader of District 45 and continued focus on membership. You made a difference within your first month. Welcome to our first “Leadership Posts”. In addition to our District Performance and Posts for Club, Area, Division and District leaders, I have shared our District Goals set by WHQ for our 2013-2014 year.

Club Posts: Club Officer Training – The last day for Club Officer Training is Aug 31st. If your club

doesn’t have 4 club officers trained contact your Division Governor to see if training is available.

Speech Contests – Plans for your clubs Evaluation and Humor Speech contests should be underway. Showcase your clubs talent and publicize your contests.

Club Success Plan & Budget – Your Club Success Plan and Budget should be finalized. Success Plans will be reviewed with your Area Governor during their visit.

Smedley Award – Promote the Smedley Award membership building contest which runs from Aug 1 – Sept 30.

o Add five (5) new, dual or reinstated members between Aug 1 and Sept 30 and your club earns a ribbon for your banner.

Media Lists – Create a media list and publicity kit; send publicity kits to local media, and invite them to attend a meeting and or your speech contest.

Club Officer Lists – outstanding club officer lists should be filed with WHQ. Proxy Forms – If you are not attending Convention, please sign your club’s proxy to your

District Governor, Sharon Jacques.o Toastmasters clubs received an email containing proxy information. In order for

proxies to be used, each club president or secretary must log in to the Toastmasters International website to specify how the club will cast its votes.

Division Calls – calls with each division, including the Division and Area Governors are being held in August. If Club Presidents have something they would like to bring forward for the call, please contact your Area Governor.

Area Posts: Area Governor Visits – round one Area Governor Club visits should be underway. Area

visit forms should be submitted online as soon as possible following your visit. Area Speech Contests – Plans for your Area Evaluation and Humor Speech contests

should be underway, and dates shared with your clubs. Area Success Plan – Your Area Success Plan should be in the process of being finalized,

share with your Division Governor. Area Council Meetings – Plans for your first Area Council meeting should be underway,

and information shared with your clubs. Division Calls – Division calls with each Division Governor and Area Governors are being

held in August. Check the District 45 calendar for the schedule. District Leadership Handbook & District Recognition Program manual – your go to

reference guides. (Provided in your Area Governor binder)

Club Officer Training – the last day for Club Officer Training is August 31. Is there a need in your Division for additional training?

o TLI attendance records forward to LGET, Patricia MacNevin. Division Speech Contests – Plans for your Division Evaluation and Humor Speech

contests should be underway, and dates shared with your Area Governors to share with their clubs.

o Forward your Speech Contest dates to LGET, Patricia MacNevin, and PRO, Shane Walsh for posting to the District website.

Division Success Plan – Your Division Success Plan should be in the process of being finalized, share with your District Executive team upon completion.

Division Council Meetings – Plans for your first Division Council meeting should be underway, and information shared with your Area Governors.

Division Calls – Division calls with each Division Governor and Area Governors are being held in August. Check the District 45 calendar for the schedule.

in our monthly District Newsletter. Send your news to our District PRO, Shane Walsh. District Leader Training – Sandra Hachey (LGM), Patricia MacNevin (LGET), Sharon

Jacques (DG) will be attending District Officer training Aug 19th and 20th. International Convention – will take place from Aug 21st – Aug 24th in Cincinnati, Ohio.

o Jim Kokocki, will be running for 1st VP of Toastmasters Internationalo Andrew Keddy will be representing District 45 in the International Speech

contest.o We wish both Jim and Andrew the best of luck.
