Success starts with the LOOK! Baggy jeans, short skirts, and wild hair
colors are a thing of the past when on the road to that dream job.
You have to look your best starting with your dress. Ladies, it’s easy
to throw on that head scarf and 6 inch pumps but you have to be
professional. Men, we know you love basketball shorts and tennis
shoes but a suit and tie could land you a great job. Dressing the part
can be inexpensive as well. There is no need to spend $400 on a suit,
when you could go to your local Goodwill or consignment shop and
get a great suit for less. Last month’s Fashion Show showed us what
to wear and what not to wear! Special thanks to Amy Schultz– Mar-
shall’s, Karen Thompson– Second Time Around, MC– Selina Soul of
96.3 Kiss FM, and Danielle Mitchell– Cosmetic Designer.

If you want your intelligence to grow: go to a library, a bookstore, or to school
If you want your health to grow: go to a gym, ride a bicycle, walk, or exercise more
If you want your spirit to grow: go to church, meditate, or find a qui-et place to pray
If you want your wealth to grow: go to a place where people are getting rich (like a real estate office or stockbroker's office), join an investment club, or start a study group and meet new friends who also want go grow richer.
If you want to expand your world: go to places you've never been before, and do things you've been afraid of doing before.

Getting Ready For
Back To School
The Golden Token
Jasmine K Anderson
There’s a dark engraved hole
Deep inside my heart
I don’t know why its there
But I know how it starts
I feel the world taking me
For everything I got
I try to fill my void
With love and understanding
But I just can’t figure out why
This keeps on happening
I live my life
I soar and I stride
I wonder why I even try
But I can never ever lose my pride
As long as I keep my faith
My determination will never die
I know my day is coming for me
To see the light
I guess the one in my world
Is not that very bright
So I must change my bulb
And use the box not open
So I can walk up to life and grab
THE GOLDEN TOKEN

To me this quote is saying that you may not like everything you have to do, but it may be neces-
sary to do it. You can never solve a problem without working out the solution. For example, if you
want a nice car, a nice house, and other nice things in life, you have to work really hard to get
them. At the time, you may not like or enjoy what you have to do to get those nice things, but at
the end of the day you will appreciate it. Not only with materialistic things, but you can’t be happy
in life period just sitting around not doing anything. At the end of the day, the actions you do will
be the end result of your happiness. The harder the work you put into whatever it is that you’re
doing will create a greater reward. Your determination of your happiness will motivate how driven
your actions are.—Willie Butler
