Guitar Lessons – Fall 2013
From the end of September to the end of November, a session of 10 guitar lessons, led by a teacher from the École de Musique du BSL, will be offered in Métis-sur-Mer. It will be possible to rent a guitar for these lessons. The 60-minute lessons will take place on either Tuesday or Wednesday evenings (about 7 p.m.)
During the first lesson, there will be conversations about why the participants signed up, their expectations as well as a presentation of the classical guitar and its accessories.From these discussions, the teacher will create a syllabus tailored to the students’ needs which will cover the majority of the following: correct playing posture, the right hand, the left hand, fingering, note learning, chords, practising of easy pieces, suggestions for individual practice which will increase progress.
Maximum of 10 participants (4 places still available)Price: between $99.51 and $165.85 per person, depending on the number of participants

Quilt making for sick children
A quilt making project for sick children is being organized in the region.
In order to be able to buy new material with which to create the quilts, there will be a draw for a quilt (36” x 54”) and a stained glass “sailing boat and fish”
The draw will take place in the fall; 1,000 tickets are on sale for 99¢ each.

It is always possible to leave your hazardous materials at the municipal garage on Rue de l’Église. By hazardous materials we mean: oil or any by-product of oil production for example "pitch", paint products, and domestic or automobile batteries.You simply have to leave these products in front of the door at the municipal garage.PLEASE, do not leave products other than those mentioned above.
Services offered for people with functional limitationsThe SSMO L’Élan (specialised labour service L’Élan) works with people who struggle to enter the labour market or to maintain employment due to functional limitations.
Services include:• welcome and information about our services and funding programs• needs assessment• pre-employment activities and tools• job hunting and employment integration support• put in place means of accommodation• training in the workplace• personalised monitoring at work and referral to other resources as required
The current program takes place in small groups for a total of 30 hours. The workshops help to build transferable skills in the workplace.
Partcipants will:• recognise their potential• acquire personal and professional skills
