ADVANTAGES OF AUSPEX PUSH FIT
1. The pipe does not have to be expanded or reverted to make the joint.
2. Neat, fully assembled fittings.
3. The AUSPEX PUSH FIT jointing system can be easily dismantled without damage to the fitting body.
4. Components available as spare parts.
If the fitting does not have a support sleeve, insert a SUPPORT SLEEVE pushing fully home.
The Push Fit System really does seal without tools. And if any single component is damaged, it can be easily replaced without wasting the entire fitting.
The Push-Fit range is manufactured and tested to comply in accordance with A.S.2537 and carries Standards mark Licence No 1711.
The AUSPEX PUSH-FIT SYSTEM has been added to the product range to give more flexibility and choice for the plumber.

Step 1Cut the pipe squarely in the middle of the witness mark on the pipe using secateur type cutters. (Do not use a hacksaw). This is important so that when a joint is made, the pipe has penetrated to the full depth of the socket. For pipes that do not have a witness mark, use the Witness Mark Gauge available from your supplier.
If the pipe is not witness marked and a gauge is not available, measure the depth of the socket and apply your own witness mark to the pipe. 16mm witness mark length = 24.5mm-20mm witness mark length = 28.00mm.
As with any “O” ring joint, the external surface of the product in contact with “O” ring will effect the joint performance. Check for imperfections before cutting. The end of the pipe may need to be freshly cut to ensure smooth passage for the fitting.
Step 2Ensure the pipe has a square cut and has no rough edges or external damage eg. scratches that may damage the “O” ring.
Step 3If the fitting does not have a support sleeve, insert a SUPPORT SLEEVE pushing fully home.
IMPORTANT:it is vital that there is no threat to the performance of the “O” ring. Check for scratches, sand, mud, etc on pipe or within fitting before assembly, as these conditions may affect the integrity of the system.

Step 4Push the pipe into the fitting using a twisting motion until it reaches the pipe stop. To ensure that the pipe has fully penetrated to the full depth of the joint, check that the witness mark is just visible at the face of the Plastic Retaining Nut.
Step 5To ensure the joint is not stressed, use a bend support or clip.
Step 6To line up fittings like tees or elbows, the fitting can be twisted on the pipe to face in the desired direction.
Ensure that a space of 15mm between joints is allowed so that the retaining ring can be unscrewed if necessary.
Step 7Test system as required in AS 3500.
A JOINT IS NOT COMPLETE IF THE PIPE HAS NOT PENETRATED THE FULL DEPTH OF THE SOCKET.

TROUBLE SHOOTINGDisassembling the joint
1. Dismantle the joint by unscrewing the retaining nut with a special spanner available from your supplier.
2. Check the pipe to ensure that it is not damaged. If so, cut out the damaged section.
3. Check the “O” ring for damage and replace if necessary.
4. Check the “O” ring protector and replace if necessary.
5. Check the Stainless Steel grabber ring and replace.
6. When a joint is dismantled, it is required that the Stainless Steel grabber ring be replaced, as some distortion may have occurred.
7. Check joint to ensure it is free of contamination.
8. Ensure that the internal components are replaced in the right order and the right way up.
9. Cut section of pipe that has penetrated the retaining nut.
