Australian Cattle Veterinarians The Australian Cattle Veterinarians
(ACV) is a special interest group of the Australian Veterinary
Association (AVA).
Their members are predominately mixed practitioner veterinarians

About the conference The 2016 ACV Conference this year titled “Déjà
Moo” is a three day event held at Ayers Rock Resort, Northern
Territory.
The scientific program will closely replicate the most popular
event that ACV ran in Alice Springs which showcased the latest
trends in livestock veterinary practice and shared many common
procedures and processes.
This event promises to be THE conference that cattle vets remember
– we have an exciting program including three full days of
conference presentations and some magnificent social events that
you won’t experience anywhere else!
The full conference registration will include: • Three full day
conference attendance • Coach transfers to and from Ayers Rock
Airport (the transfers meet all scheduled
flights) • Porterage to and from your room • Breakfast (from
Wednesday to Friday) • Three very special evening events, including
the award-winning Sound of Silence • Uluru Sunrise Viewing and
breakfast • National Park Pass – 3 day pass into Uluru - Kata Tjuta
National Park (you will have one
day remaining on passes at the conclusion of the conference
allowing attendees to visit the Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park at
your leisure). For further information on Uluru - Kata Tjuta
National Park please visit
http://www.parksaustralia.gov.au/Uluru/
Who will attend? There will be a broad mix of veterinarians from
all fields of veterinary science including
ACV welcome attendance by those involved in the cattle industry
seeking a higher understanding of the science behind their
production stream.

Venue The event will be held at Ayers Rock Resort, at the gateway
of the Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park, in the Northern Territory.
Ayers Rock Resort is an oasis within the middle of Australia’s
central desert region. Nestled in the desert like a giant mythical
snake and hidden below the level of the highest red sand dune,
everything about the Resort reflects sensitivity to the environment
and respect for the area’s traditional owners. The Resort lies
hidden from view to those visiting the National Park precinct, huge
sails provide shade, solar panels generate power and native trees
flourish throughout.
The resort provides a variety of accommodation options for every
possible taste and budget - from the award winning 5-star Sails in
the Desert Hotel, and modern Desert Gardens Hotel, to the
self-contained Emu Walk Apartments, the authentic Outback Pioneer
Hotel & Lodge & Ayers Rock Campground, offering powered
campsites and air conditioned cabins.
We have negotiated special rates for conference attendees at this
remote location until 3 February 2016 ONLY (after which
availability is likely to be very limited), so it is advisable to
book early to avoid disappointment. This is premier tourist season
at the location and our block booking must be released within the
contracted times, so please DON’T leave booking until the last
minute! There is absolutely no other accommodation anywhere
nearby.
Accommodation bookings can be made using the form included or
online at secureregistrations.com/ACV2016/

Dinner on Thursday evening is a unique experience and at an

performance. After dinner, attendees can relax under a sea of stars
while the resident star talker decodes the southern night sky,
locating the Southern Cross, signs of the zodiac, and the Milky
Way. Planets and galaxies are also highly visible due to the
exceptional clarity of the atmosphere. This will certainly be one
dining experience you will remember!

unforeseen cultural event, such as ceremonial duties or
bereavement, Ayers Rock Resort may not be able to provide the
specified activity as advertised.
Friday 8 April – Breakfast & Gala Dinner Friday morning’s
