A little bit of history …

• Moldova has been a priority region of the ADC since 2004

• 2005: Opening of a Coordination Office of the ADC in Chisinau; since then

there has been a continuous development cooperation between the two

countries

• 2016: Opening of Austrian embassy in Chisinau and deployment of an

Austrian ambassador to Moldova

• Agreement on Development Cooperation with Moldova, signed 21 Oct 2008

Contribution to implementation of chapter 23 of the EU-AA:

Cooperation on education, training, multilingualism, youth and sport, esp.:

promoting the aims set in the Copenhagen process on enhanced European

cooperation in vocational education and training.

Project Highlights:

• Support the establishment of Centres of Excellence: ICT, Academy for Construction,

Finance (finished)

• Support to establishing the national accreditation agency in the sphere of vocational

education and training (ANACIP) (finished)

• Capacity development for VET providers in the water and sanitation sector

• VET-schools: Income-generation, inclusion

• Re-Engineering Vocational Orientation and Career Counselling (REVOCC):

Equal opportunity in education, focusing on labour market oriented

Contribution to implementation of chapter 16 (Environment) of the EU-AA: water

quality and resource management, and chapter 17 (climate change)

Project Highlights:

• Water supply project Rayon Nisporeni (finsihed, financed by EU, co-financed

and implemented by ADC)

• Establishing safe waste water disposal in the town of Cantemir (ongoing)

• Strengthening the institutional framework of the water sector (ongoing)

• APASAN (water supply and sanitation in rural areas (finsihed)

• Sustainability measures for water-related ecosystems in the Lower Dniester

Ramsar Site (ongoing)

• Supporting Moldova’s National Climate Change Adaptation Planning Process
