Goals The Higher Education Plan will help coordinate the historically grown

Austrian higher education sector and thus promote a joint, holistic view of the future developments of the Austrian higher education sector.

As a rolling overall planning approach for the tertiary sector, the Higher Education Plan coordinates the activities within the higher education sector while maintaining the autonomy of higher education facilities.

Increased cooperation among higher education facilities, improved utilisation of resources, harmonised definition of focal points and targeted profile enhancements will strengthen the international competitiveness of Austria as a higher education centre.
